Gosh 3 brushes in a day?? I have upped GC's to once a day instead of once a week. See if that helps. Is it just my cat or could you brush your cat ALL day and still get fur off?? I managed to get a brush full of hair each time! and Macey-Grey is a DSH! I have only brushed her once today

I know what you mean about dog being easier, my two cats are a nightmare, so fussy. Now ones suffering from stress, I think because of the pup, she has stress eczema and now shes over grooming more than she always has. Maybe thinking some feliway my help. Animals who'd have them eh. I know how frustrating it is and how helpless it makes you feel to watch your animals stressed and there is not much that you can do but let it run its course. My older cat Honey used to suffer from stress cystitis when we lived a flat...but once we moved to a house and she could go outside she has not once suffered from it again...I even had her booked in for the gas cystography at the vets to see if she had a physical problem but vet believed it that she felt frightened being stuck in the flat at all the things she could see out the window but could not escape from them...did not make sense at the time but does now

Yeah Gerri get stress cystitis. I found a feliway plug in & some of this in her food helped to calm her down. www.animeddirect.co.uk/kalmaid-gel-for-cats-50ml.html Rubyroo11 Yeah I'm getting a small kitten in fur from Gerri and I would probably get more if I just sat there all day combing. It's never ending?? She's a short haired cat too. I get more off of her than my Maine Coon?!?

Maybe thats the problem, she's closed in and feels trapped. God I hope the answer is that simple!

Rubyroo11 I feed JWB cereal free to Cooper dog so looked in to it for my cats but went with arden grange sensitive in the end as it had fur ball control and cranberry for urinary tract. JWB didn't have one of those but can't remember which it didn't have. I feel both are quite important for my two cats. Edit - just to add - Looked on JWB website, looks like the cereal free CONTAINS CRANBERRY EXTRACT to be beneficial to the urinary tract. But doesn't have hairball control. And the hairball food is not cereal free. Which is why I didn't go for it. Arden grange - Sensitive has both cranberry extract for urinary tract health and natural fibres to help prevent fur balls plus it's cereal free to hopefully help with dry and itchy skin.

We've used JWB for Lexie as she suffers from stress related IBS, if she gets bad then it's Hill's Z/D for her. She seems settled now & we tried changing her to Royal Canin but unfortunately it really doesn't agree with her. Our Roman likes RC but luckily he doesn't mind JWB so we landed up changing him to JWB instead!

I hope you have told and asked a vet about it rubyroo, to be on the safe side? I am not a cat owner so I have no real advice for you, only the above. Hopefully all the kowledgable comments have helped you - good luck.

Update...Applaws is going down well with the kitty cats and there is definitely a massive reduction in the flakiness, hoping this is a combination of new food and increased grooming.

Oh good Rubyroo11 that's great news. How often are you grooming now? I groom Gerri every other day now and it seems to be working now too.
