Wish I could help smilesbetter but I have no knowledge of homoeopathic remedies, like you I could find little on the internet about side effects although they oth seem to be suitable for gastro problems

I hope that Carlotta is improving this morning. I think the homeopathy item is probably an electrolyte solution which is given to dehydrated pets to replace lost fluids. When my Blackberry and Willow were 12 weeks old they both had sickness and diarrhoea and Blackberry was kept in the vets and put on a drip whereas Willow was given antibiotics and the electrolyte solution.

Hello, well she isn't getting worse but she's not getting better. She ate today, just normal cat food, so didn't go to vets yet. Se ended up spewing it up "a little" according to my man. She has just been sleeping mostly since but we gave her the homeopathy stuff to see if it helps, she wasn't best pleased and put up quite a good fight considering. I also got a free water fountain thing from work today which isn't one of the plug in ones, it's just got a really tiny hole that the water dribbles out of from the reservoir into the water bowl. Hopefully this will get her to drink without me having to leave the taps on all the time (she had a big drink last night from the tap, at last).
Definitely going back to vets tomorrow morning regardless of how she is, I want to get to the bottom of what is causing her to be like this. Clearly something is causing her pain in her digestive system and it's not going away. I wish I'd just gone to the vets today actually, but it seemed so promising when she ate something and I thought the vet would just tell me to give it more time. She's just back to snoozing again now though and she kind of avoids the rest of us, she seems to prefer being on her own now, which isn't like her. She's not a particularly cuddly cat, but at night she usually snuggles right in with me, and although she still does it a bit now, she's usually gone in the morning now and I usually find her curled up on the couch looking terrible. I admit I keep checking to see she's still breathing, which is maybe a bit paranoid but I think in this situation quite justified. Anyway it's pet tea time now so fingers crossed she eats hers! We keep going through a selection of foods for her till she eats one, if she does.

Good luck with the vets tomorrow, hope these ones can get to the root of Carlotta's problem. Even if she does throw up some of the food at least she's getting some. The water fountain sounds a good idea a couple of our cats like the powered ones we have but the other 2 don't use them, including the one who has had a liking for tap drinking, he prefers a bowl. Hope the homoeopathy treatments do the job even if Carlotta doesn't like them. Know that paranoia, I think all pet owners with ill pets will

Well, I got up early this morning to take Carlotta to the vets, and she came trotting through, leapt up onto the bed and started miaowing at me for food! I put down her raw food first as usual and she scoffed it right up. In fact, she seems completely normal now. I am going to offer her another meal before I leave for work so that she's not going so long without having eaten, don't want any chance of the mystery illness returning.
Will keep a close eye on her in any case and any hint of this returning I will be on the phone to the vet. It does seem to have stemmed from her issue with cat food but can't see how that would have lasted so long, unless it was that, then dehydration kicking in.
My man won't admit that the homeopathy thing worked, but it appears it has, although maybe it was simply that she was so horrified with the indignity of being force fed the stuff that made her resolve to get better haha. She was not at all pleased when we gave her it, which if it had been Mieze would have been a massive problem, but Carlotta is tiny and easy to control, and has a back tooth missing which makes it quite easy to slip things in her mouth. She also doesn't actually bite, she just gives warning "mouths" whereas Mieze goes full on savage. Desperately hope that Mieze is never in need of any medication.

Great news that Carlotta is eating and almost back to normal. I think she will be getting a bit extra to build her back up - I'm sure she will have lost some weight.
Like Toni, I know that feeling where you check a pet to see if it's still breathing - I do it every morning with Aztec, my old dog!!

Awch, poor you, must be hard with Aztec. At least with Carlotta I only had it for a few days, but having that "is she breathing?!" feeling, and the feeling of dread when you think maybe they aren't, every morning must be horrible.
Carlotta is now completely back to normal, amazingly. She even jamp in the giant box in the middle of the living room today which had gone shockingly Carlotta-free for way too long.

Glad to hear Carlotta seems to have finally kicked whatever was bothering her. Sounds like the vet got the meds right
