So sorry to hear about your dog. If I was you I would be going to a different vets, it sounds as if the ones you're with right now aren't really listening to your concerns or doing much about your dogs condition. Also giving his so many antibiotics as well as putting him under so many times in such a short space of time can't be good for him.
I would get a second opinion from another vets who will hopefully be able to help your boy out. I hope all goes well and he's feeling better soon
It does make sense,but all the more reason you should have been given clear instructions or given a print out on post operative care for your dog to make sure infection risk was kept to the minimum.As soon as infection became apparent,they should have jumped in immediately. When people are anxious and distressed over a sick pet,its very hard to take in all that is said,and good vets are aware of that. It's a good idea to take someone with you on your next visit if possible,as they can be a great help if you fail to ask about something you may have intended.I would certainly keep smilesbetters advice in mind. I am sure everyone on the forum is wishing you well,and that your dog makes a full recovery very soon.
