I hope James is reading this for my comments? When I click on the new flag it just seems to take me to the thread not the latest new reply. Ruthie xxx I think someone else has said it doesn't work all the time - it seems to work well for me so long as I'm careful to ensure that the cursor is definitely over the NEW when I click - I'm not good on cursor control & its a small button

Found out how to get something similar to Recent Topics from the old forum. At the bottom of the forum index page there is a box headed Forum Information & Statistics View AttachmentIn the left hand section headed threads & posts the bottom line reads Recent Threads - Recent Posts - RSS Feed - Mark All Boards Read These items are clickable & the first 1 is the equivalent of Recent Topics The 2nd is similar but gives all the last posts in date order (across all threads) newest first - it doesn't look so useful but I've found by clicking on the thread name on the post it takes you to that message again but in the right position on the thread So could be usseful for those YC looking at YD (or vice versa) or YP to see if a post is of interest - especially at the start The lists are paged so will take you as far as you want & the threads have the New symbol against them so can go straight to the new posts in that thread. Hope that makes sense to everyone. Very useful find! Will try and make this a bigger button at the top.

Will look to see if most recent posts can go first in each thread, might be easier than scrolling down.

This just gives most recent posts What I'm wanting is the most recently updated threads- just like on the old forum and just for the cat bit really. I'll probably just have to go into each section. seperately although this is a bit disapointing.

Have added a button on the top menu. Hope this is useful. Thanks but I think I'd prefer a button for recent threads options rather than recent posts as that is all posts regardless of thread with the newest first. The thread option which gives the NEW button with the thread allows you to go to the 1st post you haven't read in the thread and then read on in order.

Thanks James but I meant recent threads not posts, Like in the YD forum?? :/ But as we now have 3 different forums may be you could have a button with 'Recent threads' and when you hover over it you can then chose dog, cat or pet etc??? Sorry thats more work at the mo i just hover over the pet forum button and then scroll over each forum to see new posts?!? Don 't know which would be easier?

Have added a button on the top menu. Hope this is useful. This is definitely useful James, but is there any way that we can filter it by forum? Or perhaps add a column that shows which forum the thread is in? This might help people pick out the new threads for the forum they're interested in. That might be me being selfish as I don't have cats, so I have no interest in reading threads in that forum.

Nothing selfish about that at all, I feel the same and at present I keep making the whole section as read once I have read the dog ones

James your doing a great job.
AS for the 'New' button not always working so must be how you click it ..... That can't be the case because it doesn't work correctly on the same threads for me?!?!? It's very weird?!?

I don't mean to go on about it but it bothers me that there's no updated threads section just for your cat. I don't have a special interest in dogs and I use the bunny forum and the cat bit to share my bunny pictures. It's really hard to see which thread is from which section at the minute the only way is by if I recognise the username and there may be new people who I don't recognise the cat bit anyway. I don't like going in each section to see the threads.

How about Bookmarking all the cat and bunnie threads, then when someone posts on them if you have set up your notifications in your profile to be notified on the forum of new posts, you can click on the Bookmarks tab at the top of the page and read the ones you bookmarked. That way you are going straight to the only ones that interest you, instead of going via the Recent Threads option. Just a thought

Yeah I'll do that I just like to have a look at recent threads rather that going into each section when I'm having a look at new threads since I've last been on. Maybe I'm the only one who works this way.
