We aren't having much trouble with the sticks at all anymore He will still pick them up quite regularly but I will immediately tell him to 'drop' which he does and will then run to me. He doesn't always get a treat, sometimes I just send him in front of me and away from where he dropped it. If we are standing still and chatting I have started putting him on the lead instead of constantly getting him to drop sticks. He's not really missing out as he doesn't really do much if I'm standing still and will end up sitting down to chew on a stick to keep himself entertained, so I'd rather not have the hassle! If I see him approaching a stick I will give him a firm 'leave' or 'don't you dare' and he will look at me all innocent and wander on by He knows he's not supposed to do it!
