Is it just me but since the new forum their dosn't seem to be as many of our regular members especially our older members. We seem to have more younger members than older members i don'thaveanyhing against the younger members but it just seems a real shame. We seemed to be like one big family on the old forum but it just dosn't feel the same any more which is a real shame.people don't seem to be getting involved in discussions like they did. :-( maybe it's just me but it is a real shame.:-(

Yeah it's just very big and impersonal me thinks. Things get lost easily and you can miss threads very quickly. It's nice to be joined with the cat forum though as I stopped signing in to that one as I never had enough time to reply to both.

Yes i too like that i can get straight into the cat forum without signing in again. But the forum in general just dosn't feel the same.

I sort of know what you mean but then as one of the definitely older members I'm enjoying keeping in touch with the youth of today most of the time On the cat side I think there have been as many requests for advice as before but maybe not as many longer standing members on here to respond. Can't comment on the dog side as I rarely went on that forum. There are pluses & minuses of this new forum, we just need to sell the pluses to the missing members (if we can) & ourselves.

As a younger member, I also agree that there are a lot of youths on here now - there wasn't as many on the forum. A lot of members from the old (and older than that even) forums hardly come on anymore. I miss a lot of them - they were always so helpful.
I think as long as the younger members are sensible and participating in a helpful and poilite manner, they are as right as rain. If the forum is overloaded with young'ens who DON'T behave accordingly then that's a different story.
I know where your coming from but this is a fine forum. Hopefully most have got over the change of forum and just adapted by now.
The fact that all three forums are now merged is a nice idea.

On the whole I do like it and it's nice that the cats and dogs are now all under one roof. But I think this forum is now very big and is the same as all the other forums out there, So the dog forum has lost it's uniqueness.

Won't happen over night, this forum is in its early stages I never knew the old forum but hey ho I am enjoying this one, meeting all you new peeps, and actually finding some of the topics so informative and educating, you should be proud, I have not seen such passion and in such young members as I have on here and thats in only 4 weeks, don't give up

I've gotten used to this place now. I do like the added features of this place but I do miss some older members.
Its early days though still. I remember when the old,old forum got switched to the old forum and the resentment to that place was just like here and we lost members there too. If members don't want to stay then there isn't much we can really do about it, other than make the best of what we have got.
I think I am one of the older, younger members and even I find that the number of young members (younger than me) is quite high here. I don't have a huge problem but sometimes I like to talk to older, more mature and more knowledgeable people (I'm not saying that any of the younger members aren't any of those things, but you know what I mean). I have talked to a few people on other forums about this place and some said that they joined but felt that the general age group was younger than usual so they never really posted anything. Obviously there is nothing we can do about it, we can't ban younger members and they (we?) do help bring life to the place. Maybe the age restriction thing might help but there are obviously some people who will lie about their age (and I know of one such person)
I'm sure the place will warm up soon though. Its like going to friends house for the first time, you feel out of place and will do for some time but eventually it will begin to feel like your 2nd home! (I think when you start raiding their fridge is a good indication of feeling at home!!!)
