Last night, when I fed the cats, Carlotta watched me put hers down and then walked off. She is obsessed with her belly so this is very weird for her, but I figured a one time thing and thankfully later when I put more food down for her she ate it and even defended it from a greedy Mieze.
I also noticed that she was drinking a lot more than usual, in that I actually saw her having a big drink a few times.
This morning I got a huge long lie because Carlotta, my usual alarm, did not wake me yowling for food. When I went to feed them, no amount of coaxing would get her to eat, even when it was put down next to her instead of in the usual place. Again she went and sat in the bathroom in the bath looking at the tap, which we put onto a dribble for her to see if it was water she wanted, but she didn't end up drinking anything.
My man wants to see if it continues tomorrow before taking her to the vet but I've heard that a cat missing a meal can be really dangerous and can cause a stomach problem.
We have examined her mouth (She has terrible teeth) but although one of her back teeth is bright yellow (She has previously had the other removed), there was no sign of gum problems and her breath seems fine.
She has been much slower to walk round today, almost stiff seeming, and is currently lying in her usual place with her eyes open just looking kinda down to be honest.
I think I'm going to phone the vets now for advice.
Just wanted to talk to you guys about it as this is huuuuuugely out of character for Carlotta. Have any of you guys had a cat that stopped eating?

Gonna just say that she's not eaten today and is seeming really tired, and should I bring her in today or should i wait till tomorrow and see if there is any change. Mieze is in the bedroom with my man so I am able to leave Carlottas food out for her, but she's still not interested. hope shes okay

Thanks.
Good news is I have managed to get her to eat at last, but still gonna contact the vets as her not yowling to wake me up as usually is a huge change of personality. She even seems reluctant to eat this stuff too but is thankfully eating it from her scratcher. Noticed that she has had diarrhoea too. Poor thing.

Phoned vets and she said to bring her in tomorrow if she's the same, as many cats go off their food with heat. It's not been that hot recently compared to in recent weeks though and Carlotta, who is pure white and only has one layer of fur, usually looooves the hot weather. It also doesn't explain the diarrhoea. Carlotta never had anything like this last year. Will keep a close eye on her anyway...

My first thought was the heat too as my two have been a little bit picky with their food too (I now only give them a small tin between them first thing at 6am and then at around 7pm as they were leaving a lot of stuff when the hot weather first kicked in but they do have dry food down all day if they feel peckish) But when you said ''She has been much slower to walk round today, almost stiff seeming, and is currently lying in her usual place with her eyes open just looking kinda down to be honest'' that's when I thought ring the vet! If only for peace of mind (((HUGS))) Chances are it's predominantly the hot weather but you know your cat better than anyone and if you have even the slightest niggle in your head that something's not quite right then best to get it checked out Some cats will keep any pain or discomfort hidden...unlike dogs that DEFINITELY let us know when they feel icky How old is Carlotta? Is she wormed regular? She hasn't had access to any plants that could have upset her tummy? (((GENTLE HUGS))) for Carlotta....let us know how she is tomorrow after her vet trip

Forgot to add: could you take a sample of the diarrhoea in just in case? I did that once with Thomas when he was coughing up blood and also producing it in his poo. Neil went rather white when I pulled this scrubbed-clean coleslaw tub out of my handbag and he saw that it had bloody poo inside it He said only his wife would have THAT in her bag The vet was pleased to see it tho....once she got over the initial surprise Well...where else was I supposed to carry it!

Haha, yeah I could get a sample of the poop. Hope my man is coming to the vet with me tomorrow (He has work tonight so won't be happy if he has to get up early) if we end up having to go in as my German is alright but I prefer to have someone be able to fully explain the situation properly, and there are medical words I don't know yet (Had a hard time trying to pronounce the german version of "diarrhoea" on the phone haha).
They recently got cat grass, but only Mieze eats it, and she looooves it. Its only 21 degrees out today and cloudy so it's quite cool compared to normal, and Mieze who is black, chunkier and has a double coat has had a huge appetite. If anyone was gonna lose their appetite coz of the heat, it would be her or Rosa. Carlotta hasn't been responding so well either, I mean I was just able to touch her belly and I didn't even get the soft warning bite she usually does when anyone assaults her in such a way haha. She just seems so tired.
Anyway hopefully she is better at tea tonight, and after a good nights sleep. If shes still not okay tomorrow at breakfast then ill call the vets and get an appointment as soon as possible.
I hate whenever she's ill, she's so much more delicate than Rosa and Mieze and it means that when she's ill she quickly looks like she's on her deathbed. Hopefully she'll be up yowling me awake tomorrow morning as usual, never thought it would be such a panic to miss that!

Managed to get Carlotta to have another small meal again and she seemed to perk up a little afterwards. My man had come into the room and she did a tiny miaow, so we thought we'd try a little food and thankfully she ate it!

I know you say that she hasn't had any of the grass, but can you be 100% positive she hasn't had any when you haven't been there?

Pretty certain, she has never liked eating plants and leaves the cat grass well alone (Mieze on the other hand scoffs them happily).
