What have I let myself in for?!!!! Late afternoon/early evening I heard a lot of noise (chasing around feet) from the newbies room so thought they were just playing. Then around an hour later I went to the kitchen & saw a small white feather in the hall - odd. I started to go upstairs to do their water before food & saw another on the stairs, with quite a few more on the landing. Not sure what I was going to see as I looked at their room. Well I know it’s where they get their food but this is ridiculous! Luckily not the best photo of Shady so the squeamish can't see the details! Shady brought his own dinner to his feeder P1070030 by osiriscat, on Flickr I can't believe he brought a pigeon in through the catflap (there were 3 feathers in the utility by the flap!) then up the stairs. I presume it was still alive (but not flying) at this point as I suspect it wasn't the 2 cats but the final chase I'd heard upstairs as there were some feathers on the landing but you can see the mess he made in the room where he was happily eating the deceased but still warm pigeon! Luckily he must have had enough as he didn't object to me taking the bird from him. Then came the clean up!! dustpan & brush for the larger feathers/clumps, carefully removing the toys from out of the chaos on the floor (luckily none needed cleaning just the odd feather removed. I'm glad that I haven't replaced that carpet yet, it is rather old & was Lexie's room before the 2 boys came, so has seen a fair amount of cat wear & tear. Then the vacuum cleaner was used for the rest. Feathers needed removing from the 2 water bowls & then they needed a thorough wash. There is a 2nd litter tray to the left of the one in the photo & that had some feathers in & there were feathers behind everything on floor so they all needed moving! Luckily the litter trays didn't get overturned or spilt. At this point Stevie appeared but the vacuum sent him back downstairs. Feathers cleared clarified where I needed to use the Stain & Odour Remover! The carpet cleaning need exposed P1070031 by osiriscat, on Flickr That was when I found the spray was just about empty so had to get the larger container of it from the garage & refill the spray bottle. Spray applied P1070033 by osiriscat, on Flickr Had to wait 10 minutes before blotting the spray & tomorrow will have to vacuum again to (hopefully) find the stains gone. Then came the clean up food mats, amazingly he'd only got Stevie's (the red edged on) really dirty, his own was under the blue feeder. The feeders needed cleaning. By this time all 4 cats were wanting their food!! Yes Shady was in the dinner queue in fact was the first back upstairs for it I just hope his starter doesn't upset his stomach. Omg 😳 tonib let’s hope it’s not going to be a regular occurrence 🕊️I have had a pile full of feathers 🪶 in the corner at the bottom of my garden that I suspect the stray cats that wander into my garden have had but thankfully no body but that’s bad enough 🙈what a mess to have to clean up 🙈 Looking forward to more updates ( especially with pics ) other than that I hope they are settling in nicely 😻

Waht a mess much as we love our cats the hunting isn't there most endearing quality however it's what they do

I hate it when Toffee catches anything. The other day he had a dormouse. It was under a garden bench huddled against the wall. Hubby put on some gloves and gently picked him up and released him out of the top of the garden. Luckily he ran off. Thankfully Toffee doesn't bring things in the house tonib. I bet when you saw that pigeon you didn't know where to start.

Bramble frightened me earlier this evening. Hubby called me to say she was having a seizure in the cat pen. I got a blanket and wrapped her in it and took her in the house. She appeared to be very confused and I thought she couldn't see, she wouldn't look at me, just at the back of the sofa. After a bit she seemed ok so I gave her a Lick-e Lix, which she loved. Then she ate some cat food and seems fine now.

Bramble is fine this morning scallywag and tonib. I slept on the sofa last night so I could be near if anything happened. She woke me up with some loud miaows about 1am, she just wanted some food! She's eating ok this morning. It was horrible to see Bramble so confused. When she recovered, she kept purring and staring at me. I phoned my daughter to tell her (she was staying at her boyfriend's) and she was that worried they turned up over an hour later (they walked).

Poor bramble lotsofcats it’s awful to see when they have a seizure 😢glad she seems ok now she would have been really frightened bless her. My late dog Mitzi had regular seizures it was awful . Let’s hope it’s a one off - you don’t think it’s the warm weather do you ? Freddy struggles with the heat he’s got the runs today bless him. They sweat through their pads so if you feel bramble’s feet and the pads are really red and warm you have a good idea . Freddy’s feet get really warm and his pads go really red and warm.

Poor Freddy, I hope he's ok soon. It could have been the heat with Bramble, she's a proper sun worshipper and she's so long haired. Last year we put a tarpaulin over the Persex roof on the cat pen to create some shade for the cats. We'll get it out again.
