Took Kiba-Khan to the vets today for a blood test regarding his heart and potassium levels. Everything is good. The vet said KK is very tolerant.

That is good news lotsofcats Does he still have to have any meds? Yes, he's still on his heart tablets and I've been given another 2 months' supply. When I took Kiba-Khan out of his carrier in the vets, the vet exclaimed that Kiba-Khan was very handsome and that she has a red Maine Coon. I like this new vet - she told me that the lowish potassium levels in KK's blood would have contributed to his funny flat foot walk and also, more importantly, it can affect the signals from the brain which makes the contractions in the digestive system weaker, leading to slow movement of food, bloating and constipation. I am so annoyed that the first vet I saw didn't tell me that - he should have seen in KK's records that he suffers with constipation. If I'd been told this I could have upped the lactulose and other products for constipation, which may have saved poor KK from needing an enema. I shudder to think I might have had him put to sleep and then found this out afterwards. The vet said KK was very tolerant when he had his blood test, although he did have a big drool hanging from his mouth.
