That was brilliant that Ellie didn't have to have anything done at the vets after all. A big relief for you I think orpheous87 . What a lovely photo of Ellie. Yes, definitely a relief. I knew she'd be alright, but it's always better to avoid anaesthetic if possible I suppose!

Pepper now sporting some fetching boots. Not for fashion purposes, sadly. On Friday night she was having a bit of trouble walking. Her back legs just didn't seem to be working as they should. So off we went to the vets who have prescribed pain relief, which has certainly helped. Saturday we had hydrotherapy scheduled anyway, but they decided that she could have a laser therapy session instead so as not to tire her out even more (she was quite spaced out because of the medication). That helped almost instantly and she hopped up and went for a potter around the physio room. She's been dragging her back feet a little bit for a while, but only really the nails. Since this, she's been dragging her whole foot as she steps forward so I thought boots would help protect her toes. She's taken to them really well.

The pain relief definitely seems to have helped chantel! She's been running around today as though nothing was wrong. It's still noticeable when she actually walks though, as you can see her feet dragging. The boots help a little bit as she does seem to pick her feet up more. She has hip dysplasia and spondylosis of the spine, so I'm sure there's a bit of arthritis in there too. We've managed to get her almost to 14 without any actual medication, despite how bad her hips are. She still has regular hydrotherapy and joint supplements etc. which have helped keep her mobile I think.
