Jasper had done his dew claw again, If it doesn't get any better by Friday, or gets worse, then off to the vets with him. 2020-05-19 10.47.06 by Cazypops, on Flickr

Ouch, poor Jasper cazypops . Have you got any Leucillin to spray on it? Yes lotsofcats that's the one thing I make sure I always have in. scallywag, that was how we think he did it, skidding to a stop chasing a ball. OH only noticed what he'd done when he pick his ball up and though "strange why is the ball red" He did it Monday night, he's not worrying it, but every time it stops bleeding, it starts again when we take him out. Not been able to take him out on his normal walk since. I swear I've never know such an accident prone dog in my life.

Thanks for that reassurance scallywag. LOL usually it's me saying that to you. Poor lad, it's just so sore. Luckily I always have Metacam in, so he's be having a dose of that every day.

Sorry to hear about Japser's dewclaw, cazypops. I hope you don't have to have a vet visit. What are your vet's doing during lockdown? Ours are only physically seeing emergencies (of course there is a question s what is an emergency) but are also doing phone/email consultations. I have been able to order regular meds & pick up them up albeit at an agreed time & they bring it out to the car. They will also provide written repeat prescriptions - I have them for Osiris & Roman for Metacam as its definitely cheaper online - although the cats are supposed to be seen every 6 months they've said that they can do that over the phone or perhaps it was video call. Both Roman & Lexie were due their annual boosters at the start of May but they do have an potential to last for another 3 months so our vet is suggesting that I contact them 14 months after the last one to see about arranging the vaccinations that gives a month's leeway plus they are hoping for more relaxation in veterinary rules by then. Interestingly, as I live on my own, a couple of weeks ago I wondered what would happen if i landed up unable to look after the cats so I contacted the 2 catteries I have used in the past. One was closed but the other (smaller) is prepared to take cats allowing for the extra 3 months on the vaccinations.

It's still hanging in there at the moment, but it's not looking as sore. He keep licking it but nothing too excessive. Think we can get away without a vet visit, but I'll still keep a close eye on it. tonib , our vet is still open, but he's doing in car consultations. I was there the day before VE day for Jaspers Catrophen injection, boosters and annul glads expressing. I also picked up a new bottle of Metacam. I only pay roughly £6.00 for a 10ml bottle. I could have a large bottle but it always goes out of date before we get to finish it. All together I payed roughly £55.00.

Our vets are only open for emergencies at the minute I think, but this coming week, they're opening our local branch. Not entirely sure how social distancing will work there, but I'll find out on Friday as Ellie has an appointment. Pepper might also end up going as we need to get her hearing tested. She appears to be completely deaf and we don't know whether it's proper deafness or (hopefully) a build up of wax. But we've tested her a few times tonight and get no reaction at all, so it's not looking god!
Our hydro place is open again now, with all appropriate measures in place, so Pepper has an appointment there tomorrow. Still not sure what to expect.
