This might seem like a stupid question, but I've never noticed it on another cat so thought I'd ask. Mieze's claws on her back feet are always out. And quite far out, is that normal? Carlotta doesn't seen to have that but then Mieze is black with white claws so very noticeable. If it's not normal, would it cause her any problems to have that? She doesn't seem to have an issue with it, but would it not mean that her toes in her back feet were a but funny? I always thought that all cats claws were usually kept a retracted, but then it's not something I've ever noticed before. Maybe I'm just being a dummy, just thought I'd ask!

Something niggles me about this. All our cats claws retract but some, on a couple of them, are always visible to small extent, but I seem to remember a similar question somewhere - possibly this forum but can't remember the answer! Not much help, sorry. So long as it doesn't cause Mieze any problems I wouldn't worry.

Hi. The hind paw claws don't really retract that much at all and some cats have longer claws than others so it is normal to be able to see them. Elsa has nice little lady claws that are mostly hidden, except the middle two (those are always longer...just as a humans middle two finger nails grow a bit faster than the others). Simmi does not have nice lady claws...she has ruddy great big eagle talons!
Don't worry...tis normal. x
