Very sad to read in local paper that Martin Lawrence, son of Cath and the late Sid has died of cancer aged 57.Martin and Debbie used to own the Coppergate Boarding kennels in Cloughton Scarborough, and built up a wonderful place,it even had a therapy pool. They also had the R.S.P.C.A. kennels from where we adopted Skip over 9 years ago. They were absolutely wonderful, with great help and advice, and put in a lot of work and training with the rescue dogs in their care,we will be eternally greatfull to them as they went beyond the extra mile in their care of the dogs. The lady who did our home visit said they spent a lot of their own money on behalf of the dogs up for adoption, and Skip came with a new soft bed no doubt bought by these kind people.I like to think there will be plenty of Martins old furry friends waiting to meet him at Rainbow Bridge.

What a shame, he sounded like a lovely man Migsy. As passionate as a lot of people are about animals, there's always a handful that will truly roll out the red carpet for them.

R.I.P Martin he sounded like a nice guy and it's nice to know he loved animals so much, hopefully he will be reunited with his furry friends now.

Yes some dedicated people go much more than the extra mile.I am so glad I spotted Martin as I was passing local supermarket not too long ago while walking Skip, and he was so pleased when I re introduced him to Skip, and could see what a super friendly and happy dog Skip was.
