Is it true if a hamster can fit its head through something its full body can get through?

I just wasn't sure if that was one of the old wifey tales or not. Lol. Like allot of people have said...oh you got a hamster, watch it doesn't bite you. And loads other comments about them biting. Lilly hasn't bit me once yet, she has put her teeth on my finger twice now but never actually bit me lol.
Another hamster question about feeding fresh fruit, vegtables, herbs and so on. How often do you feed fresh food? And what kind of portion size? I've been giving Lilly fresh food every second day but feel I may not be giving enough but not sure if I'm just comparing it to what Elphie & Letti (Guinea Pigs) get lol. Ive read that Hamsters can eat eggs & meat but seems to be a bit of a debatable subject, whats your take on it?

I give mine something fresh every 2 days, and its a piece about the size of my thumbnail. Mine have little bits of ham occasionally, but they don't like egg (many do). Quite often I'll give mine a dog biscuit (a Winalot shape or Bonio), or a meaty flavoured cat biscuit.

Thats prob roughly what Im doing just now but not wanting to introduce too much as Im slowly changing her food from the muesli type food to the nuggets which she appears to love but dont want to change too fast.

Mine had chicken skin (from a roast), ham, grapes, strawberries and god knows what else!
My gerbils are now on a food which has meal worms and lots of fruit and veg in. I'll find the name of it!
