Been for my flu jab on the way to work this morning. My appointment was for 9.15am but I was early as I had to drop my daughter off at work for 8.30am. I'd just sat down and I was called in. I was in work usual time for 9.00am.

I was in work usual time for 9.00am. I had a similar experience yesterday, but at the dentist. My appointment was 3pm. I finish work at 2pm and so I went straight there. I was walking back in our house a 15 minuet drive away at 3pm. Must be our lucky week.

Well that was a very eventful morning 😀 just when I thought I would try and chill out today on my day off ,mit didn’t go quite to plan.
I was just taking Riley a nice little walk down my road when a black short haired Alsatian ran towards us with no owner . I started to panic because I was worried about it attacking Riley who just decided to sit down at my feet . I tried to get it to come to me but it was very scared and started to snarl at Riley. Nobody came to help me other than a lady walking up the opposite aside of the road - she said” I will call the dog warden.
My worry was getting Riley to safety so I took him back in the house and I grabbed a spare lead . When. Got to the top of the drive the dog ran straight across the road and nearly got hit by a white van , the young guy driving it got out and asked if it was my dog so I filled him in with the situation.( just to let you know the dog did not get hit by the van but it was very close)
We both ran across the road after the dog and the young guy was down on his knees trying to get the dog to go to him , the dog was very very scared and tried to nip him a couple of times but he managed to get hold of the dog and I slipped on the lead to his collar (no I’d tag)
The lady on the phone said there was no dog warden on duty today but if we could not take the dog home then we could take it to Springfield kennels and the warden would pick it up tomorrow. I wish I could have taken it but Riley, Elsa, Freddy were my priority and I could not put them at risk , he guy also had 2 dogs so I helped him get it into the back of the van and he said he would drop it at the kennels on his way to work. I thanked him for coming to my rescue.
I came home and put a post on my local neighbourhood app (social media ) I thought someone might know of the dog or owners.
About 2 hours ago there was an almighty bang on the door and it was a man and his son - asking if I was the lady that managed to rescue an Alsatian earlier today and where could he find the dog , so I filled him in . He said he was looking after her for his daughter but they had only had her3 weeks from a rescue and that she had escaped from the garden this morning.
I think I was as pleased as the man and he couldn’t thank me enough 🙏 he went straight to the kennels to collect her . I hope everything went well and they were reunited. I just wish that I had taken the young guys details but I would imagine that the kennels would have taken his details.
A happy ending for once and a very eventful morning 😅 .

I was braver once I knew Riley was safe.
Last night there was a knock on the door 🚪 it was the Guy’s daughter the owner of the dog 🐕 she gave me some hero chocolates and her brother was stood at the end of the drive with the Alsatian, she just wanted to say thank you. I just wished I had taken the young chap’s details that helped me but it all happened so quickly I didn’t really have time to think I was just focusing on the dog.
Thank goodness it all turned out good 😊

I've now lost a stone in weight. I think I want to lose at least another 5-7 pounds.
