Sheโs fine just tired today ๐ด The trazadone prescribed is 100mg but the trazadone prescribed last year was 50mg - also prescribed Pregabalin which I feel very nervous to give on top of the Trazadone ๐sheโs not had it before. (although vet said to give 2 Trazadone 1 dose ) ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Last year she had 1 Trazadone and a sedative a few hours later and she was ok - so we are going to try just 1 Trazadone 100mg at 3:30 and 1 sedative with her tea around 6:30 and see how she goes ๐คทโโ๏ธ the directions on the Trazadone states give 2 tablets 2 hours before suspected noise with one pregabalin .
But I donโt want to give her too many drugs- so will see how she goes tonight .

Hope everyone's evening hasn't been too stressful. We've had fireworks on and off all evening, some prolonged and some huge explosions. Thankfully we haven't had any major issues. I've had to deliver quite a few treats to Cody for not barking/reacting to the sounds, but he's not actually reacting to as many of them as I thought he would. The really big ones result in him jumping up and turning around to wait for a treat, but the smaller, more distant sounding ones, he hasn't even lifted his head for a lot of them. That's different from previous year, but he's been on a new calming supplement for the last few months and I started giving him double his usual dose yesterday so I'm attributing the improvement to the supplement. Nothing else I've tried in the past seems to have had as big an effect as this one - it's MaxxiCalm by Maxxipaws if anyone's interested in having a look at it. It's not cheap, but it certainly has worked for us as I've noticed he's a lot calmer in the car too. The girls, as ever, have not been bothered at all (understandable in Pepper's case since she can't hear them anyway).
I'm going to a concert tomorrow night when the big displays are going to happen, so I've bought each of them a giant hairy goat ear stick chew to hopefully keep them distracted if the noises bother them. I have to admit I'm concerned about Cody and regret booking the tickets for tomorrow night when I could have picked Monday!

Jasper doesn't react to the bangs, but he wont go out for a walk after dark, even when it's still quiet. Isn't Cody your brothers dog? shouldn't he be the one to take care of him during this stressful time.

None of ours have ever been bothered about going out for walks, although we usually go before they start and then wait until after they've finished. He is, yes. And yes, he should, but he takes part in an axe throwing league which is run on a Sunday so he'll be out as well. But he's also never downstairs on an evening so it falls to me. Although I have to admit I've taken it upon myself to give him the tablets because I hoped it would stop him barking as much (it does not). It's an added benefit that they help with fireworks.

I hope everyone's pets are all okay after the fireworks. I'm so lucky that Kobi is deaf and the cats are not bothered at all by all the noise. Toffee turned up at 8 o'clock to go in the pen and he was fine too.

I just dropped my car off at the garage this morning, I've got to have a new clutch - it's my awful driving, hubby said! I'd booked it in for Friday 10th but when hubby drove it on Friday he said it was really bad so I called the garage to see if they could do it any earlier. They said if it's that bad, to drop it in and they'll see if they can do it any sooner, possibly Tuesday, so fingers crossed.
