On Sunday 17th the new 20mph speed limit in residential areas starts here in Wales. Not looking forward to it. It's advertised as 'A little bit slower but a lot safer'. I think it's a lot slower and a lot more infuriating. Car drivers will be overtaken by cyclists! Poor parcel delivery drivers who get paid per parcel delivered will have to work longer hours for the same pay. It will affect taxi drivers and public transport. Some people will ignore it and get annoyed at people obeying it. I'm trying to work out how much earlier I'll have to start out to work.

We've had 20mph in residential areas round here for a few years now, and I can tell you it's hardly enforced. People still drive at 30+ and even the main roads that are 30 get driven on at 40+. We just don't have the police to stop everyone. Every now and again it's publicized that they are having a clamp down or put out speed limit signs that flash to let you know when you are driving at the right speed, but that is it. I wouldn't stress about it if I was you. I take it the main roads in Wales are staying 30?

It's a bit vague cazypops. I've not seen many new signs. I expect we'll all get used to it. Do you find it frustrating?

funny enough l spotted some New 20 speed limit signs around here 2 days ago. Only just spotted them as they are not much bigger than a dinner plate if that 🤦♀️ As for are they frustrating , atm if you take into account those who still do 30 then followed by me , at maybe 25 🤭🤭 theres less snarl ups. It is hard to keep to 20 , l have an automatic , but how hard is it with a manual , surely you dont get out of 2/3rd gear ? 🤯😂😂

To be honest unless I know they are out with speed cameras I don't stick to the limit either. I get more annoyed at slow cars on the duel carriageway. It's national speed limit, and the amount of cars that do 30. I don't do a lot driving. 3 miles to work and 3 back so for that mile on the duel carriageway is the only time I can get the engine up to temp and the oil going round it.

Well today I put to test the driving at 20mph. I spent most of my time looking at my speed and I was back and forth 2nd and 3rd gear. The worst bit was the long straight road with houses and a school. It's always been hard enough to stick to 30 on that road, but sneaky police hang about with speed cameras now and then and, there's lots of places for them to hide.

Nearly got buried in files in work this morning. All of a sudden my 2 x 7ft shelves, completely full of works files, fell down. Luckily I was sat a little bit back and I just ended up with some files in my lap and some hit my fingertips on my right hand. They were numb for a bit and now ache. All of the screws had ripped out of the wall. I have files everywhere and some of the papers had come out of the files. My bosses son is putting them back up for me and I get to sort out the files and put them back in order.

If you had been under it, it could very easily have killed you.
I hope you have logged it in the accident book. I hope you hand is feeling better now.
Good luck in sorting everything out.

My hand is fine this morning scallywag. Hubby said I should have piled some files on top of me, shouted for my boss and I could have had the rest of the day off! Only thing is, he was in my office at the time. Some files had landed on my computer and were pressing on the buttons - I had to delete lots and lots of the same thing to get to where I was. I've put it in the accident book cazypops. My files all needed a good sort out so now I get to do it. Forgot to say that my drink got tipped all over my desk and the file I was working on.

Well we returned safe and sound yesterday from our holiday thank goodness. From Tuesday the weather was atrocious 🌧️🌬️we was stuck in on Tuesday all day because the weather was so bad and we was on the top of an hill- I don’t think we got one good nights sleep at all- poor Riley was that scared of the noisy wind he got himself stuck underneath the bed hubby had to literally lift the bed up at one end for me to guide him out. The bed was so uncomfortable so was the sofa I have been in absolute agony with my back.
I decided to try sleeping on the single bed in the little bedroom- Tuesday that way I thought Riley would get on the bed with hubby and feel safe - Elsa slept with me.
The bed was no better I don’t think I had 1 hour’s sleep 😴 I thought I felt the caravan move in the night but thought it was more my imagination but hubby said no “ the caravan definitely moved - so Wednesday morning we just decided to pack up and come home I don’t think I could have managed another night with my back pain and hubby said let’s go home that way you can rest your back for a few days before we go back to work so back at home we are. Freddy was pleased to see us 2 days early 😻
