Is anyone else enjoying the Olympics? It's not the same not being able to watch it when it's happening though.

Is anyone else enjoying the Olympics? It's not the same not being able to watch it when it's happening though. I keep catching bits of it. We are doing better than I expected we would do. Shame I missed the diving, but I saw Tom Daley and partners gold winning dive on the news, it was brilliant. Shame Jade Jones couldn't defend her title and make it 3 golds in Taekwondo.

Yes, I was gutted for Jade Jones. Sad about Simone Biles too. I hope she can find her inner strength to continue with the rest of the Olympics. I admire her for speaking out about mental issues.

I've been the the fracture and orthopaedic clinic this morning and the specialist said my foot is healing well, even though I am still limping a bit, especially up hill and up and down steps and stairs. He said bones take a while to heal. I could have killed hubby. He dropped me off just before 10am and said he'd be in the carpark at the top of the hospital grounds. I came out and walked to the top but no sign of him. I phoned him and left a message. I sat on the wall for a while and then walked back down to the other end of the hospital. I phone him at least 8 times and it just went to answerphone. I walked up and down the whole hospital grounds 5 times! On the last lap, I found him stood opposite where he'd dropped me off. He said his phone hadn't rung once! He'd parked outside the hospital grounds around the corner! Men!!!!

Found out last night that he had his new phone with him and not the one I was ringing all the time. Of course he hadn't given me the new phone number.....grrrrr!

Glad to hear your foot is healing lotsofcats! Although how rude of hubby not to give you the new phone number! I've been watching the Olympics every day since it started. I love it. It's the only time I watch things like rugby lol. It's a shame about Simone Biles but it's good that she's doing what she needs to do for herself.

I echo what orpheous87 said lotsofcats, sounds like your foot is in for a long(ish) full recovery but its getting there. I've been watching some of the Olympics a bit pot luck as to what but as usual the cats have completely ignored the TV, well that is until all of a sudden Lexie was watching & then tried to catch the legs of one of the male pommel horse competitors who was doing a lot of flares. I can't remember if it was Max Whitlock, the GB gold medalist, or Lee Chih-Kai, the Taiwanese sliver medalist who I think did a routine full of flares. All I can remember is Lexie briefly watching from the floor before jumping on to the TV table & patting the swinging spread legs. She's the only one of the cats whose ever shown any interest in the TV, the last time was the Horse Guards parade at one Trooping of the Colour, she paid no interest in this year's or the equestrian events at the Olympics.

That's so funny tonib. You have to keep one eye on the TV and one on Lexie.
