As Wales might soon be in a circuit-breaker lockdown I just did a big cat food and cat litter order online from Zooplus to get a bit of a stock back in. Better safe than sorry with 7 cats and 1 dog. I'm glad I did a bit of Tesco shopping yesterday as the large Tesco's around me are in the Liverpool Tier 3 area or Wigan (Greater Manchester Tier 2 (for the moment)) although there is still one in my area but not so large. Sainsburys are in Wigan & Liverpool but there is one near cazypops just up the motorway which I use as it can be better than Wigan. We have a small Asda, the large one is in Wigan, & also a reasonable size Morrisons is in my area. Just heard on the lunchtime news that I, along with cazypops, have been put in Tier 3 from midnight tonight which means I'm not advised to go outside my area which is the relevance of where the supermarkets are. Think I might visit the Wigan Sainsburys this afternoon for anything I can only get there, but otherwise no major issues as the vets, dentist & doctor are in my area & I can get most things locally or online. P.S. I started typing this at lunchtime but just come back to the computer & found I didn't send it. I got everything I needed

I'm back again! Just been reading back a few pages on this thread and saw about the car troubles.. I've had an interesting month with that too!
Last month when I was on my way to work, I was pulled up at a set of traffic lights when there was an almighty bang - a ladder had fallen on my van! There was scaffolding set up on a building next to the lights and it had slipped and fallen on me. Thankfully I managed to get the contractor to pay me directly for the quoted repair (it only had two big dents on the top corner) and it's now all been sorted outside of my insurance - good as new.
Then last week when my boyfriend and I were on our way back from a weekend away, he was just going to drop me home and we hit a deer - on his motorbike! By some miracle we didn't crash, the bike is a really hefty Harley Roadglide which I'm sure had something to do with it, but we hit it with quite some force, it was a big deer just lying in the road (assume someone else had previously hit and injured it) and we went directly into it at about 50mph... but the bike just wobbled a lot and righted itself, then we pulled over. We checked the bike over and it seemed surprisingly unharmed which I was amazed at, only the headlight casing had popped out so we put it back in and we actually managed to carry on our way home. When we checked it over in daylight the next day we spotted that one of the windscreen screws had come loose, and one of the crash bars was really bent - they are made of really strong metal and it had bent it right back, if there weren't crash bars on the bike my boyfriend would probably have broken his leg!

You were lucky on both incidents , glad all was ok. Was that at Hockral lights by chance ? Didn't you move the deer out the road ? Hope you have had no whiplash incidents since xx

Hope you have had no whiplash incidents since xx Yes it was at Hockerill lights however did you guess My boyfriend went back to check on the deer and we'd either knocked it out of the way or it had somehow gotten up and moved itself - either way it was on the verge afterwards. Definitely very lucky! No injuries at all to speak of - somehow! It barely even stopped our momentum, so no sudden jerking around to have caused whiplash, we just wobbled side to side before becoming upright again.

In other sad news, my nan passed away last week She'd been ill for quite some time with various things so not entirely unexpected. Her illnesses just caught up with her in the end - she had been in and out of hospital, sent home with carers, back in for a few weeks and then eventually moved to a care home.. but was back in hospital the next day. She then had a stroke and didn't recover Her funeral is next Friday.

Hope the funeral goes ok next week. At least you can have up to 30 people, when it happened to us in May we were only allowed 15, and the worsted of it is not being able to hug each other for comfort. Sending you {{HUGS}}

Sorry to hear about your nan alfiemummy, even if not unexpected it still is a distressing time for your family. My condolences to you all. Reading about your road troubles you were certainly lucky on both occasions.
