I hate the humid weather, it plays havoc with my hair. I start off with my hair straightened in the morning and then it starts sticking out here there and everywhere as I get hotter and hotter - my poor fringe is the worst!

Got mine cut again Tuesday , it was too un manageable like you , once damp and sweaty back come the kinks and curls Oh and it was a DRY Trim not paying out extra £10 for a blow dry in weather like this

Didn't want to start a new thread for a quick question so thought I'd ask here: What cat worming treatment do people find is the best? I can't remember which treatment my mum used to give Ziggy and she is due one. I think it was the Bob Martin Spot On treatment(as that's what her flea prevention is) but after googling it and reading some horrific stories I'm thinking should I be using Bob Martin products at all? Ziggy is still at my mum's house with my brother while I try and find a new flat and he said she's been once yesterday sick twice today and is hiding under the bed:( I'm sure it's nothing to worry about as she's apparently been eating more mice than usual this week and I know vomiting can be a sign of worms. I think I am just fussing because I'm not there, but should I tell him to call the vet?

I know that Droncit tablets are good and I used to get my vet to give them to my cats as they won't let me give them tablets. Most of them won't eat their food if the tablet is hidden in it either. I've bought Droncit spot on to try but I can't use it yet as I have to wait for 2 weeks as I've just done spot on flea treatment on them all. I'm not a lover of Bob Martins products. Thing is, the more you read, the more worried you get about products. If Ziggy's not showing signs of improvement Weims I would call the vet for advice, especially with the weather being so hot.

Don't blame you having just a dry trim.

Thank you:) After doing a bit of research I think Dronspot looks good (Is Droncit the same as Dronspot?). Haha yes I think it has to be a spot on or I'll never get it down her Yes I think people tend to post about bad incidents to warn others more than good ones to praise a product which can make it hard to be confident in any! Bob Martin seems to have more bad press than others though so I think I'll have a look at changing her flea treatment too! Yes I'll keep checking in with my brother and see how she's doing and make sure he calls the vet if she's sick again or seems off.

Weims I use Drontal tablets for Lexie & Roman, he takes them straight down but Lexie has her's in a gel capsule along with her Nutramed powders - she won't take the powders in the food so has them in the capsule so its easy just to add the wormer! Osiris won't take tablets so he has the Profender spot-on which needs vet authorisation, the Drontal tablets can be bought online or at the vets. Drontal & Profender both cover tapeworms & roundworms with Profender also covering lungworms but Droncit only covers tapeworms. As mine are all allowed out & they can hunt then I want a wormer that covers roundworms as they are got from eating wild prey Another one that the vet has suggested is Panacur granules which also covers tapeworms, roundworms & lungworms. The advantage of this one is that it can mixed into food. If Ziggy is still being sick & hiding (i.e. not herself), like lotsofcats I'd recommend talking to a vet. In this hot weather they can get dehydrated. I presume she has access to plenty of water.

I've tried the Panacur granules tonib and the cats just walked away from their food in disgust!

I might phone the vet and ask about Profender as Ziggy is also on thyroid medication and I want to make sure whatever I get won't react negatively with that. My brother did take her to the vet the other day, and the vet reckoned it was constipation caused by furballs making her sick! So she's got a paste to mix into her food that is clearing them up:)

Good point about talking to the vet about wormers as Ziggy is on thyroid tablets. Roman has just been put on those & the data sheet says there is issue with benzimidazole wormers. Don't think any of those mentioned are that type but best to check.

Little bit of a rant from me today, I'm having such a nightmare trying to find a place to rent that will allow Ziggy to live there I have been searching for at least a month now, and I move out on Monday and still haven't found a place. Not sure if it's estate agent's who are assuming landlords won't take pets or if the landlord's have told the estate agent specifically that they won't consider them, but as soon as I mention a cat they shut me down and lose all interest in helping me find a place. I'm at a total loss of what to do at this point I've just finished uni but I can't apply for jobs until I'm settled in the town I'm going to be living in, as if I don't find anywhere I'll have to stay in my mum's old house, 2 hours away, on my own (which is a bit of a sad thought). Gahhh!!

I hope that Ziggy is okay now Weims. Keep an eye on her if she is constipated as sometimes there's a good few days gone before you realise that they haven't used the litter tray and the problem has set in by then. If you don't have any of the paste you can always buy some lactulose from the chemist to keep handy. Just don't tell them it's for a cat when you buy it. I hope that you can find a place soon that will allow cats. Very frustrating for you.

Weims have you tried putting "cat friendly landlords" into google search, a few companies came up including Dogs Trust who have a section on advice on trying to find somewhere. Don't know if hey cover your area but its worth looking at what comes up. Good luck, fingers crossed for you all.
