Thank you for sharing Mutely's problem, How long have you noticed separatist anxiety with him? he has had seperation anxiety since we adopted him in 2008, he also barks whilst we are out, which isn't helped by my son mollycoddling him. Now my son is leaving the living room door open for him, which is usually out of bounds whilst I'm out. i did get him to stop barking for a while as my son was working all day, but now that he works diffrent hours and is in most days, Mutley has taken to barking again, and he just doesn't know when to stop. I have tried everything I did before but it just doesn't work anymore. I still ignore him but it just works him into a barking frenzy. The people that had him before let him do as he wanted as when we got him , he ran around the house and garden, jumping on everything. He even sat on the dining chair at the table and expected to be fed.We had to keep him in a cage( he did come out) to calm him down as we have cats, which he hated, for his and their safety. He is still very nervous and excitable but is great with the cats, he knows his boundaries with them.

Thank you everyone... We are now putting the blanket and Kong idea into practice. Now, when a guest(s) comes round, I put Earl on his blanket in a down, and give him a stuffed Kong. 10 minuets later, he is completely engrosed, and after giving him the release command, he only goes up to the guests and wags his tail. Then he leaves them alone! No more problems, thank you everybody!!
