Hello georgina well firstly keep calm because you can do this!. If you have had any work experience, work with animals anything that you have done to do with animals you should mention because it's all experience you have gained. If you haven't don't worry even talking about this forum will help because it's something you do in your spare time that you are part of. My friend went on the do Vet nursing at Harper after college and she enjoys it so far. Don't worry you just need to answer any questions they have and I'm sure you'll be fine . Good Luck!

OK, not really the time to post as a newbie but I do have loads of experience but my degree isn't in physio or animal-related, unlike most applicants. I know I need to keep calm and sell myself (but not waffle) - easier said than done. And I have had personal issues that have impacted on my career path etc, so I know they technically cant discriminate against me for that, but they can use the fact that more applicants have better more relevant degrees etc...

Explain your passion for animals and the career choice Also it could be worth stating how passionate you were about your previous degree but other things got in the way so thy know that you won't just drop out after a few terms. If they've given you an interview they're obviously impressed with you I wish I could help more, I started an FdSc last September but I got an Unconditional offer without an interview so didn't have to go through it fortunately!

Thanks Charlotte, to clarify I didnt drop out of degree - got a first but certainly wasnt something I was passionate about and I think they'll know that. No it wasnt animal-related.

Oh no, I didn't mean to insinuate that you did. If you have completed something that you weren't passionate about that says even more tbh, you were willing to stick with it even if you didn't enjoy it as much as you would this course! I would just emphasise your passion about Physiology/Physiotherapy(?) and working with animals as a passionate student is obviously willing to go far! At the end of the day I don't have much training and behaviour experience (just Grooming lol) and I was accepted onto my FD course so experience isn't the be all an end all. You must have impressed them or else they wouldn't have offered you an interview is this the only college you applied to for the course? It is this just your top choice?

There's only 2 physio courses and the other one, which I am applying to, has a later closing date. Happy itch either, if I have to choose then ill have to think but not getting carried away with that. BTW, what's a FD course?

Oh that's not too bad then. At least that broadens things a bit for you. And I see what you mean, I'm the worst for thinking the worst about things not wanting to get my hopes up, so completely understand not wanting to get carried away!
I applied for 2 courses and was conditionally offered one place at my second choice but unconditionally offered a place at my first choice.
And FD is a Foundation Degree. It's Level 4 and 5, then if I pass the FD I l'll be going onto a BSc. That's not for another 2.5 years yet though lol!
