It's not resolved yet but as a temp measure I have cut a big bag and put it under the cage but the start of next year I am going to get a new cage not decided which one yet but I am swaying towards the C&C cages. As I am hoping to expand my guinea pig family so its easy to add more to these cages but we will see how things work out. I've found a UK based place to get it from who also provide the bottom of it aswell as the cage which allot of ppl don't and its roughly the same price as the ones without lol.
I had thought about putting puppy pads in the hutch that I have just now but wasn't sure if it would be dangerous for them. Can I ask, is it just fleece like blankets that's used of a certain type?

Good idea, C&C cages are great. I bought all my fleeces from here - www.fabric-online.co.uk/content/pet-blanketsThey've all been washed a good few times now and still look really good. They were about £6/7 each fleece, but we've saved a fortune in disposable bedding, and its comfy on their little feets We get puppy pads from Home Bargains, they have a box of 50 for £4.99. We used 4 each cage clean.

I'm impressed with how brightly coloured they are, even after several washes. I will check the site out just shortly. Think I may use puppy pads wen I change cage but just now its only hay at the bottom so maybe not so advisable just yet lol
