What a way to introduce myself; only said hello on the cat forum! Apologies for letting my pup loose there! I'm John and as said previously, am owned by a beautiful thirteen month old Golden Retriever called Bella. We had the privilege of her arrival when I took early retirement; when we had the time and space to give a dog. To say she's taken over our hearts is an understatement. I'm looking forward to sharing thoughts and experiences with you all.

What a lovely welcome! I feel I'm in good company Today and yesterday are so cool compared with last week; me and Bella were out every day, the best being Thursday when she had a good few swims in the River Nar at Castle Acre. She is getting her confidence in water and was safely swimming where she couldn't get out of her depth. When she came out she had that 'Golden Grin' because she'd enjoyed the new experience. However, she's managed to get a small cut in her left rear metacarpal pad, so is on 'light duties' for a couple of days! I'm hoping I can get a pic or two of her if I can master the forum tools. I tried uploading an image but there is a message saying I've exceeded forum space limits...any help appreciated!!

Welcome to the forum! Bella is gorgeous poor girl, cutting her pad like that being a gundog I'm sure she won't appreciate "light duties"!! My mad boys are Milo the black Lab and Finn the Irish Setter.

Sounds like she really enjoyed her swim, I know just what you mean about that 'Golden Grin', a big smile with the mouth and a light in the eyes Sorry she's managed to nick one her pads and hope it soon heals. As to the pictures don't worry about the message, there are supposed to be 2 ways to load photos on to the forum (see the links in the forum FAQ index click here ) but unfortunately the direct from your computer option is not available as there is limited spaces available & its is fully used up. The other option, the use of a hosting service such as photobucket or flickr works well, the FAQ index has instructions for those as well) Look forward to see some pictures of Bella , if you need any more help any number of us will be pleased to assist

Hiya All, thank you for your kind thoughts about Bella's paw-pad. Avansa, your Milo and Finn look real characters! You're dead right; Bella only had a short 15-20 minute walk tonight, on lead, so was really fed up as to why no running around. Usually she gets an hour or so, during which she has "the zoomies", so one puzzled-pup tonight. I'll sit down tomorrow and experiment trying to post pics (feel a packet of Hob-Nobs coming on).

Haha, they certainly are characters (that's putting it very politely )! I know all about the good old zoomies, don't you worry! Maybe she'd enjoy some mental stimulation from a puzzle toy or stuffed Kong while she's on house rest? Keeps my hooligans quiet for a while anyway!
