I assumed the daily thread was *A* single thread for everyday stuff, why the need for a brand new thread every day for other threads to get lost under? Sorry to sound picky, but the intention of the chit chat thread was for the same sort of talk as in this/these.
I really don't mean to be annoying but we had a similar situation on the old forum, where more helpful threads were lost under all the small-talk, and that's why James first brought in a chatroom facility, which we also have on here.
Ditch my chit chat thread if you want to, and have your own thread instead, but please don't clog the forum up!

I didn't want to say anything being a newbie, but I find that alot of the threads get hijacked and before you know it you lost track what the thread was all about, or am I being to finicky too ? as an example the competition thread ? there is so much chat going on that you have to trail thru, before getting to the photo's Sorry if I am speaking out of turn. Will shut up now

PFT - Slighty harsh. This is in the off topic thread so I'm sure people can just ignore it if they don't want to read it. petitsfilous - Story of my life, late for everything. It's Wednesday and I'm in the Tuesday thread. scallywag - I guess thats the down fall of forums people like to comment on photos and the post subject can get lost sometimes.

I didn't mean to sound harsh but I really don't see why more than one thread is necessary?! I'm only saying, it's not down to me what petitsfilous does with her own posts, I was just suggesting that one thread would be enough?!?

I know hun, I added smilies. I think if you want to do a hello day thread then do it. If it's in the off topic part I really don't see the problem but I'm sure it will bug some. Anything to make the new forum more like home, maybe.

Sorry I have only just read all this. My internet has been down and I've had a rather poorly pup to attend to. I only trialed it and decided on tuesday evening not to carry it on. I have seen it work on another forum and it was lovely to see the regulars on there daily all sharing their day to day happenings and wishing each other well. I did not mean to take over anything. It was supposed to be different to the chitchat thread where is seems you're all currently discussing films and tv shows. Personally I have lost interest in the chitchat thread now but because I posted on there I am still getting 'new' participated notifications which is a little annoying that I can't turn those off.

petitisfilous - How can you be taking over anything? We all share this forum and if you want to make a thread like this I can't see a problem with it as long as its in the 'Off Topic' part. Like I said before if people don't like it then don't read it.

It wasn't my intention to upset you, I was merely asking why it was necessary for more than one thread.
I think it's important to communicate your feelings about something on a forum for it all to run smoothly.
Gladys - petitsfilous herself complained about how annoying the 'new' button is when you are no longer interested in a thread, and I agree, it is annoying and I wish it would disappear as soon as you've seen that there are new posts, like it did on the old forum. Anyway my point is, it's not about just finding it annoying (so don't read it etc.) but it's making my experience of the forum a bit less enjoyable. I think it's fair to communicate with people and try to work things out.
I'm happy for a daily thread, it's a nice idea, but a new thread EVERY DAY? That's even more cluttering than the chit chat thread!!
I just miss the old forum where every post was either asking for advice, sharing a relevant news item or something really interesting, rather than 'I ate pizza for lunch.'
This seems to have become more of a chatroom than a forum about dogs. In fact, THAT'S why I made the chit chat thread, so it could ALL go in there and people can knock themselves out chatting all day. AND there's a shoutbox..
This has turned more into me venting about the change in forum, sorry XD

I completely understand where you are coming from. I guess in a way, being a newbie I saw it as a way of getting to know you all a little better. Apologies

PFT - I wasn't talking about the 'New' flag thingy when referring to " finding it annoying so don't read it".
But not to sure what you mean about the new posts? Does it not work the same as the 'New' green flag thingy we had on the old forum? It's just a little brighter on here?? Or are you talking about something else?
