Yes he's is thanks caz2golden , he's all back to normal. Still got to keep him on Loxicom for another few days but he's back to his usual self again. We wondered if whatever he did gave him a dead leg, and vet seems to think that could be a possibility as a result of jarring his sciatic nerve, which runs round the back of the hip. We're still keeping him on lead walk too, just as a precaution.

Back to the vets AGAIN today. ยฃ32.00 lighter and two lots of antibiotics. Jasper has another anul abcess brewing. Fingers crossed we've caught it early enough, and it wont develop and bust again like last time. Have to take him back on Wednesday for a check up.

I hope you've caught it early enough. Poor Harper has been in the wars. How does he seem?

He seems ok in himself, but the give away sign was his constant licking of his bum. He kept me awake all night with it last night. Since he had his first lot of tables, (two lots, half twice a day of each) he's not been licking quite as much.

The last time this happened, he was skooting along the floor and his gland swelled up and burst in a matter of hours, this time his bum is swollen and he's licking instead of skooting. So I'm wondering if he has built up some natural antibodies, so with that and the antibiotics fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear Jasper is in the wars again cazypops hope you've caught it in time to prevent anything worse, especially as the tablets seem to be working. It won't have been pleasant to hear him watching himself all night but what it must be like for Jasper doesn't bear thinking about! Hope he doesn't wash himself raw. Hope the Wednesday appointment goes well.

Don't know if it was the bit of puss the vet expressed, the build up of antibodies form last time or just the antibiotics, but 24 hours later and you'd never know he was under the weather. No swelling, and no more licking. Phew! So glad we got him in the vets as quick as we did.

Been at the vets again today with Jasper. He has a swollen ear, vet says it a heamatoma. So he's got some drops that we have to start in three days time when the pain has subsided. in the mean time he's on Metacam to take the pain away. Fingers crossed it goes down again on it's own, or it could mean an op.
