Hiya
My lovely Jasmine had her second vaccination yesterday. She was fine after it, but is really quiet today and off her food (not at all like her, she's normally greedy and very active!) Does anyone know if cats sometimes go a bit 'funny' after their vaccinations? I have never seen this with any of my other cats. Thanks
Lorna

Hi Lorna, I've not had kittens so no real experience of first vaccinations but I have heard that this can happen. Hopefully Jasmine should soon perk up, but keep an eye on her over the weekend. zina had the same reaction only a few days ago

Thanks Tonib. Yes, I was so concerned I phoned the vet who said this is quite common, and hopefully she should be fine by Monday. Its not something I have experienced before so maybe I have been lucky with all my other cats! Or maybe the vaccination is a bit different/more advanced since my last kitten.

She should be fine - I have no concerns myself - it is a vaccine after all.

My late cocker spaniel was allergic to something in his first vaccinations, his face swelled which made him look like a hippopotamus.Vets should always be informed of any reactions from vaccs in case it is an allergy that could prove a danger to the animal.

Hi lorna, I took Boo in for his first vaccination on Tue and he was very sleepy and wanted to sleep on me all day... My vet did say that this can happen also they can go off food but it should not last longer then 48hours. Boo was fine the next day and was back playing and eating etc ... Im guessing when he has his second one he will be the same but i will just let the vet know how he was. How Jasmine now? xx
