Hi all, Looks like Nibbles decided to see what was on the other side of Rainbow Bridge. I went to feed her last night and found her dead beside the food bowl. And I was only after asking Mam to get hamster food. She jokes about how the €10 hamster died after just paying €30 at the vets for her leg. I don't think I'll be getting any more hamsters, they just aren't the pet for me. She's with Munchy now.

Poor thing, bless her. At least she had a nice life and you looked after her well That's the same as me, after Dobby dies I don't think I will be getting anymore hamsters as he's my second one (my sister also had one). Caramel, Cinnamon and Dobby

petitsfilous I think so, they were a Christmas present from my parents. I always wanted a dwarf hamster.

So sad judypops, our last hamster years ago was found dead on return trip from buying new cage etc for him.My daughters were banned from having hamsters after that,as with not living long,I decided it wasn't worth the heartache. There's nothing more heart breaking than trying to console a child whose pet has suddenly died.We decided to stick with our dogs. The cage came in handy for rescuing fledglings,as we used to put fledgling inside cage on top of tall step ladders with the door fastened open, and mother bird always came and managed to coax baby bird into flying out.
