Been very windy today some rain early on but it seems to be calmer now. About 30 minutes after I posted this the heavens opened again - heavy rain! I'm not tempting fate today - it's already been mixed weather

It's fine today and calm after the very windy and showery weekend. The wind and the rain has ruined my petunias in the hanging baskets and plant troughs. The sunflowers had to be retied and luckily they have survived. The roses have been ruined too.

Sunny but not so warm as the blue skies made you think.
Not looking forward to tomorrow.

Very wet and windy today. Before I came to work Toffee asked to be let in the house. Both times he was soaked and had to be wiped down. I've left him on the back of the armchair in the window. I hope he's got the sense to stay in.

Dry so far today but chilly with a slight breeze. Lexie's in the conservatory, Roman seems to like to cool & was last seen sleeping on the decking outside the summerhouse & Osiris is asleep on my bed. I tell a lie, Roman has just walked for some water. so I've fetched his feeder from the dining room & he's eating No Lexie trying to steal some as she can see his feeder through the glass patio doors from conservatory to dining-room. Not sure if that is what is putting him off or he's just a bit more hungry now!

It's absolutely poured down here all day up until a few minutes ago and now the sun is trying to come out. Still grey clouds around.

It's definitely wet late afternoon & evening, I had to dry Roman off a couple of times! Had to empty the Litterlocker cat waste collection bins & put it in the bin in the rain. I'd hoped it would stop raining to take the bin out to the front but in the end had to put a head torch on & take it out in the dark (the side passage isn't well lit hence the head torch). I put the last rubbish bag out even later & it was still raining

It's now finally dry, but there are still a few black clouds about. And it's chilly.

We had a good bank holiday weekend with sunshine each day, although with cold mornings and evenings. It was so nice that we took Kobi on a long walk along the local cycle track and then back down the road way. On the way back down we passed a house near the bottom of a mountain and they had a peacock sat on their wall! I was thinking I've not heard a peacocks' call (not too far from my house) and now I come to think of it, it wasn't the colourful male peacock, it was a female peacock, so perhaps it was just visiting! It just didn't seem to be a suitable garden to home a peacock in. It's no good, I'll have to do the same walk again this evening to satisfy my curiosity. Even more unusual, my son and his girlfriend walked along the local canal and spotted a cormorant - they are sea birds. They took a video of it and watched it catch 2 fishes. They also saw a kingfisher - I am so jealous!

Sunny again today, a bit warmer than yesterday. lotsofcats, Friends of mine moved into their new home complete with the previous occupants peacocks. It was during one of the bird flu outbreaks in 1999/2000 & unfortunately the birds couldn't be transported to their new home as they couldn't be air transported over France. due to the restrictions. They did eventually relocate to their new home but it was interesting seeing them in the big pen in the garden, but they were certainly noisy! Do you think that cormorant had got blown off track s=with some of the winds last week?

Peacocks are very noisy but I love their distinct call which is like a cross between a cat's miaow and a screech. Did you get to see the peacocks with their feathers on show tonib? Perhaps that cormorant did get blown off track - although we have a wetlands nature reserve about 6 miles away from the part of the canal where it was seen.
