Drizzly rain here. Of course it didn't start until after I'd put my washing out and come to work.

Drizzly rain here. Of course it didn't start until after I'd put my washing out and come to work. That happened to me yesterday , ( not the work bit ) but just got it out then rain came so I left it out and eventually it did dry

It is only a light drizzle so I'm hoping that doesn't count.

Aw, Bella's tummy is just waiting to be tickled molly9. It was a very wet end to Saturday and Tay the stray turned up for food at 11.15pm. I'd gone to bed and was reading when hubby called up that Tay was sat on the wall by the cat pen. Poor cat, he was very wet. I just put his dish of food and some chicken on Toffee's veranda (same house as Bella's molly9) and left him to it. Usually I sit on the garden step while he eats his food and try and get in a sneaky smooth. He looks at me as if to say "get off". Yesterday was a lovely sunny day after. Tay came for food about 9.30pm and looked a bit cleaner than usual - must have been from the rain!

How lovely to get visits from Tay the stray lotsofcats donβt think Bella would be too happy with stranger kitties in her garden let alone on her veranda saying that she does have a boy cat who visits sheβs quite happy to accept him in the garden but at the back of the garden heβs not allowed anywhere near the house she growls like a dog if he gets too close π€£ but he is beautiful obviously has an owner as very well looked after black & white kitty presuming heβs a boy as heβs quite big strong looking boy like to think she has a handsome admirer π»

Mixed weather here but dry.
Yesterday it had been dry for 2 days so around 1pm I decided to mow the lawn as it hadn't been mown for a long time. I use Greenthumb for the weed & feed treatment & I'd had to put them off previously as I'd just mown the lawn when they reminded me that they were coming the next day (25 June). I have to leave 3 days either side of the treatments. So it was rebooked for 3rd July & basically its been wet ever since or at least not enough dry days for the grass to dry except probably those 6 days around the treatment! Of course when I started on the back lawn I found that although it appeared dry it wasn't at the level I was cutting it. The lawn mower blade kept jamming, chucking grass out underneath rather than into the collector as the damp grass was not letting it go to the back of the collector. However once started at that height I decided to persevere as it would look odd if I readjusted the height for half the lawn!
The back lawn filled about two thirds of the garden wheelie bin, even squashed down, so when I did the front I raised the height of the cut to one short of max. It still jammed & chucked out grass but not as badly & I just managed to get the cuttings in the wheelie bin, which is collected on Thursday morning. So no weeding or pruning until after that!
Around 2.5 hours later I was but boy did my back ache. I think a combination of bending down, turning the mower over & the amount of empties in the wheelie bin along with the effort in pushing the mower over the long grass given the various slopes the lawns are on and that the lawn mower is quite heavy even in normal use but normally does a really good job.
I really must replace it with a lighter model! I was planning on doing that this year but lockdown put a end to that so I really must get motivated to sorting that out.

Never mind replacing your mower with a lighter model - how about getting a gardener in to mow the lawn and cut the hedges (if you have any)? Much easier for you.
