You can bookmark a post so you can find it more easily, if that helps??

I think it would have to be moderators who make posts sticky, which is a bit of a pain if they're not around all of the time.
Edit: Found in the help section about creating threads:

Thanks orpheous. I still think bookmarking it is the best option.

I think it only bookmarks it for yourself though. I don't think it shows to everyone that it has been bookmarked. Rather like adding a site to your bookmarks on your shortcut toolbar :/

But to advise you who have misunderstood, a Sticky would be a post that you want to permanently stay at the very top of a thread, as an example if you have a Thread called....POST YOUR PHOTOS HERE,... there could be several posts made, then say I come along and on page 2 and I post detailed instructions how to add a photo onto the forum, beacuse people were asking. Then a Mod can come along, pick up my post and make it a sticky, hence it then moves and appears as a first posting on the thread, and forever there for people to refer to for instructions. Sorry for the long post

Sorry for the long post I know there are administrator/moderator privileges to mark a thread as sticky so that it stays at the top of a category & I've seen the legend for a thread but I'm not aware of a post being able to be made sticky (but I could well be wrong. I've seen the sticky legend on the list of threads pages but not on the posts pages.
