Dear users who have moving avatars or are considering to get one, Could I please ask that we have NO MORE!!!!!!!!!! I'm pleading with you, I'm on my knees begging you, PLEASE no more moving avatars!!!!! I cannot take them!!!! I have a piece of paper stuck to the left side of the screen when I am on here so I cannot see them!!! I know I can disable avatars all together but I only want to disable some of them and I can't do that. You are all free to do whatever you like with your profiles on here, be it moving avatars or flashing signatures but please, for my mental health, no more moving avatars!!!! 4 moving avatars is just fine thank you! I might be totally alone on this one, but I am pleading with you, please stop this moving avatar takeover!!!! I'm going insane over here!!!! Yours Sincerely, Bextull.

Ha ha! Oh dear! The only ones I don't like which make me cringe are the ones that look like a foetus.

I have always liked yours scallywag but no offense I am not keen on the others! I know that you have worked hard on them and I dont want to take anything away from that. Guess cos the others have multiple moving parts and are moving a lot I am finding them rather distracting!! I do however like so many people's plain old pretty pictures and I want to see them P.S sarahhound I adore yours AnnaAmbers is another one I really like

Does it honestly affect your life that much? If it makes people happy, then let them have them. I wouldn't have one myself, but that's my choice. This is a forum, not a fascist regime

I know this has been covered by Avansa, but guys, are you really that petty that a moving icon upsets the balance in your entire experience of the forum? You all know that it is (mostly) the younger members with a moving avatar, and they all adore the gifs scallywag made for them, which is a really nice thing, and while, like Avansa said, I myself wouldn't have one, I thought it was so sweet of scallywag to make the effort to create them. You guys are really putting a downer on something that was previously a source of joy for some of the younger members. I'm sad to see you guys being like this, I didn't think that was the spirit of the forum. I don't like all-consuming neverending (HUGE) signatures that seem to be everywhere right now, but I'm not going to bitch about it in its own thread and make people self conscious about theirs. If things put me out, I like to think that I usually put up with it because I know the other person is happy with how things are, and it's just my picky nature! Just leave people be. Edit: Some of you may not realise this but gifs take quite a long time to make, especially when you have to clone the background behind something (so if there is anything behind the moving part of a picture) and in order to have a smooth movement in the gif, many frames are required. Cloning in ONE picture is bad enough! I respect someone who not only takes time out of their day for an on-line acquaintance but also has the confidence in their work to have it used and displayed for all to see. I'm sure they don't then expect to be criticised by a lot of the members they'd consider friends!

Well I am so sorry if my avatar affects you in the obviously terrible way you say bextull but that's just tough. I like my avatar, in fact I love it and nothing you say will make me change it! Is there really a need for a thread on this? The way I see it is you're just deciding to pick on some members avatars because you decide they annoy you. Well let me tell you something; it doesn't annoy me in the slightest, I manage to read without it distracting me so why don't you just go ahead with your paper-sticking? Thank you Avansa and Pawsforthought for being more supportive than many members on this forum. Yes me BorderTerrier puppypal scallywag have moving avatars, so what? Who bloody cares - it's called having fun. I personally will not be removing my avatar because certain members have decided to be picky about it. I think you need to lighten up and just accept that not everything runs as you want it to.

I have changed my avatar back. And I prefer it this way. I want to make it so ALL members are happy on the forum. I can almost see now why some people keep the plain old ProBoards avatars featuring the alien head I am not getting all het up about avatars, sorry - I respect other's opinions and at the end of the day, we all breathe the same air. Fine if people don't like the moving avatars - let's just adapt if we want to

Fine if people don't like the moving avatars - let's just adapt BT I am disappointed that you roll over so easily. I was going to stay out of this as obviously I have caused the problem, but i thank those who have been suportive and open minded, this forum is for fun as well as discussing things regarding our pets and problems. Pawsforthought Thank you and the edit is particularly good as scallywag took hours, up to her if she wants to say how long, making our avatars. People don't understand how much effort and time goes into making them. They then shouldn't be put down.

I think for some, me anyway, my computer loads far slower when those avatars are on. I have nothing against each member, but the more there are, the less time I am spending on the forum, because it simply doesn't load properly for me. That's all I have against them, it ruins the forum time for me, but each to their own.
I'm sure once the craze has gone, it will get back to normal, but I personally can't spend as much time on the forum the more there are.
My only option at the moment seems to be to block each member who has one, so their posts don't show up, then my computer loads the site as normal, but I think that would be a shame as some users with them, I really enjoy reading your posts!

There will be no more. Only scallywag makes them and I was the last to receive one. There is only three of us now as BorderTerrier felt she had to take hers off due to members complaining. What browser do you use? Mine certainly hasn't slowed down at all.

I'm on Google Chrome, but its a work computer and it just takes too long to load. It's OK, I've blocked the posts with them. I can still see your post though if I click 'Display Post', so it doesn't take AS long to load then. I certainly don't want anyone to remove them because I don't like them. It's each to their own Put it back on BT. I had no idea when this was created that scallywag was making them. Must be quite a talent SW. No point in you making them for someone not to use them

BorderTerrier I thought you liked your moving avatar? I second scallywag, I'm disappointed that you'd let some intolerant person make you feel you need to change it. If some people don't like these avatars then thats their problem not yours. So if you have one then good luck to you. It show you all have a sense of fun, not matter what age you are.
