I really like the July mag, it is filled with, again, wonderful doggy stuff! I enjoyed the 'summer walks' article - people will really benefit from this, especially the section about what to keep out of the way of - wasps, cats, foxes, snakes etc. It could save lives! Plus it tells you how to enjoy your summer walks when it comes to people going walking early in the morning. Great magazine, I am so glad I subscribe to Your Dog

I like the article about scent work. I'm definitely going to give it a go with both of my dogs

I've found it a bit boring again this issue. I don't like the new format, but also, there's not enough interesting reading to me. Too much on puppies, training puppies, and training in general, none of which interests me.

I have only had time to quickly flick through it so far,but was drawn to article about Keswick.Brilliant place,we holiday there every year.People are so happy and friendly, and interested in each others beautiful dogs. Many more places should realise they are missing the boat regarding their banning of dogs,it's a huge market. France is dog friendly,as is Holland, what is wrong with our own so called dog loving country?

I particularly liked the article on Talking Dogs Scentwork perhaps as I have just completed Scent 5. Also the article on zoopharmacognosy as I have done a one day course on this and found it fascinating.

The place was literally littered with dogs! I am not surprised it is almost through to be the most dog friendliest place in Britain.

B.T. one pub has sign saying "Dogs and well behaved owners welcome." We have counted 8 dogs in The Dog and Gun,all well behaved and lying under tables out of the way.One couple at other side of our table had 2 dogs,we hadn't even noticed them for a while.Though it is a busy pub with walkers and all kinds of people,I have never heard anyone grumble about the dogs, everyone is just very nice. It's a pity people in other towns have such a downer on dogs and their owners, they are certainly losing out through their attitude.

I have wrote letters into dog magazines to hopefully be published in the past and present about how people are loosing custom by pushing dogs and owners out of the door. One received the prize of Star Letter in a magazine and hopefully I will have helped to spread the message that everyone is trying to spread!

I've only had time to read the article about Keswick at the moment. I really wanted to read that as I'm off to the lakes for a few day and wanted some ideas on where to go an visit with Jasper. So if anyone has any suggestions to make, not just Keswick or Ambleside I'd love to hear them.

cazypops; There are so very many places, one of our favourites is the walk round Buttermere Lake. It depends where you are staying, but Cockermouth is well worth a visit,it has little independent shops, the walk along the river is lovely, and there is a very large park near the river.(and a very large car park). You could visit Cockermouth and go on to Buttermere from there. I would strongly recommend buying The Lakes and Cumbria from Smiths or local bookshop or supermarket, its only about tree or four quid, about 300 pages, packed with pics and info on the towns, villages, walks with maps and directions, and even markets,as well as all of the lakes. It's great to browse and keep in the car or rucksack. You can't fail to be bowled over by it all.

Thanks migsy that's a big help. We're staying in the south Lakes near Milnthorpe and Silverdale. We only live about an hours drive from the lakes but we usually end up at Ambleside. We'll be going to Keswick, lets hope its not raining this time, I never been there without it raining. And we'll probably end up at Ambleside at some point but was after somewhere different to go too. When you're in the Lakes have you been to Aira force? It's a waterfall at Ullswater.

cazypops; No,we haven't been to Aira Force,we have been past it.The thing about the Lake District is you have to be prepared for all weather as I suppose the lakes wouldn't be there without plenty of rain. One of my favourite pics taken years ago is with my daughters sheltering from the rain under the Bouder Stone, all in bright cagouls,we are smiling in spite of the rain, and to see it cascading down the mountains etc. gave it all a different beauty.
