You know your dog best and yes young dogs that are still growing shouldn't we walked for that long yours seems fine. Your training sounds like its coming on great, breaks for water and making it fun sound great. Just go easy if it gets too warm but I'm sure your dog will let you know that and keep water handy

My girls cant take the heat so I walk early (pre 10:30) and late (after 5pm) on warm/hot days or go somewhere where they can cool off in river, lake or sea. I would take care walking in the middle of the day on real hot days CC (just in case!). Sorry cant remember how old Jess is, I would be careful with length of walk with young dogs as too much exercise can do the joints harm. My two are fully grown and in prime of their lives so on weekends we can be out for 2-3hrs in morning and a shorter 1/2 hr - 1 hr in afternoon. Quality of the exercise is as important as the length. You know your dog and if she is happy with long walks then that's wonderful. Exercise along with food, comfy bed and time with their human friends is what makes most dogs happy. Try and put what this person has said to the back of your mind. It is just one persons opinion and that does not mean they are right. It is obvious you had a fantastic walk with Jess. Enjoy your time and if you are both having a real good time then no one has the right to spoil that. Thank you Yes I understand they can over-heat quickly that's why I made Jess have plenty of breaks. She is about 10 months(ish) and didn't show any signs of tiring throughout the walk.

Thank you everyone for being so supportive and kind, it's greatly appreciated. I am just going to do my best to ignore her as I shouldn't let her ruin my walks with Jess. Just a quick update on the recall:
Today me and my mum went to the park again, we were there for 2 hours today. We would've stayed a little longer but we had to get back for lunch. We let Jess completely off lead and she did great! She came back every time we asked her too and waited for us when asked! She kept us in sight the whole time and has a wonderful time playing with other dogs

Bet your accent is great! Thank you, so do I! I think she is going to be good at agility - she can jump so high and run so fast!

Excellent on the recall CC! That alone shows that you're being responsible - not just letting her off to take off into the distance, you're taking the time to train her to be well behaved and adjusted She's a beautiful girly!

What did your mum say? Was she impressed when she saw you two doing so well?

What did your mum say? Was she impressed when she saw you two doing so well? She was very impressed! When we got home so was my dad I expect my training coach person will be tomorrow too! We're going an hour early to give Jess a run off lead before the class starts
