Its these initial few weeks that are the worst spider with Roman we were told to keep him in for 8 weeks even though the rescues's norm is 6. Apparently he had been rehomed before us but the new owners had let him out before the end of the 6 weeks & he'd vanished. When he came back to their home after about a week, they apparently had decided they wanted a kitten instead! Their loss our gain However that first hour or so when we first let him loose & he'd vanished over the fence was very nerve racking!!

It's a terrible worry when one vanished over-the hedge but there is a great joy when they return at that stage they have figured out where home is how terrible to have not wanted him but wanted a kitten didn't they know kittens become cats

I remember that feeling tonib. When we move into our house, we tried our best to keep both Flirty and Bandit in for a few weeks..........We lasted one week. Flirts got out and we went looking for him, found him round the corner and brought him back home. The following day we had to give in to him, he started attacking Bandit because her was so frustrated with being locked in. When we let him out he didn't go far and came back for his food. Flirts was always an outdoor cat, and Bandit was happy to stay in.

That's lovely to see spider that he's able to go out but that he wants to return to his new home & not go looking for his old. that first time out for his new servants must have been a very anxious time.
