Chloe was the first cat I looked after, strictly speaking she was my neighbour's cat but shared her time with us until spending more & more time with at my house.
She was 17 years old when she went to Rainbow Bridge on 22/1/2008 even. She'd been ill for a few weeks (looking back probably a combination of undiagnosed kidney disease & old age) & the vet finally suggested it was time. She came home that morning for my OH to see her & come with me back to the vet in the after & also for my neighbours to say their farewells. She'd not been eating but typically in between the 2 vet visits that day she ate some treats!
She never did things by half. On 2/3/2006 she'd was quite poorly & went to the vet who diagnosed a bad cold. She got worse & was back at the vets on 4/3/2006 (a Saturday) as a result this was to be her daily regime-
If she wasn't eating she was to go back to the vets on Monday but she did rally.
I was off work due to an operation & had been stuck at home for a month by this time & about a week or so after Chloe's treatment a few colleagues took me out in the evening for a pub meal whilst my OH had a Chinese take-away. One brought me back & came in for a coffee. Apparently Chloe had recovered evidenced by the fact that she'd had all the chicken from my OH's Chicken Foo-Yung & had finally gone out even though it was tipping it down with rain. Which is where she was when I got home. A few minutes later my OH brought me a towel as Chloe had just come in soaking wet but she ignored me & went to see my colleague to whom I passed the towel just in time as Chloe jumped on to her lap! It was only after my colleague left that I remembered that she was allergic to cats!!!! Apparently she took an anti-histamine when she got home & was fine.
Sadly this illness had knocked Chloe for six for a few weeks & she gradually lost her love of going out, It was as if she'd lost her territory. So in mid 2007 we thought about getting another cat who would help her regain it. So Chloe is responsible for us getting Roman in October 2007. He was 3 & she was 16/17. He wanted to play, she calmly said no & he accepted that. Once he was allowed out she did join him although never wandering far.
I know this memorial is very late but it seemed rather appropriate to remember her at this time as she instigated us getting Penny & Osiris to keep Roman company after her trip to Rainbow Bridge & then Lexie & now Shady & Stevie
RIP Chloe
Who waits at Rainbow Bridge to greet our cats, first Penny & then Roman and eventually us.

- Steam 4 times a day with Vick under chin - I used to sit on the loo in the en-suite with the door closed. The shower going as hot as it would with its door open hence filling the room with steam!!!!
- A powder (can't remember what) in food or dissolve & syringe twice a day
- Antibiotic 1/2 tablet a day
- Anti-inflammatory tablet once a day
- Eye drop twice a day
