No scallywag. It just means that the free users have to be willing to have their photos public. All of mine are set to privet so I'll have to decide, if I have more than 50 which to change. I know that orpheous87 uses Instagram but I don't know if that is free or not.

The only way to keep all your pics privet is to get a pro account. I'll just have to make sure that any pics with me or OH on them are the privet ones. It's a bit like blackmail, set to public or we delete, or buy a pro account and you can keep them privet.

Instagram is free, but it is also very public. There are other free hosting sites though. I've used imgBB in the past which is where this pic is hosted. Could be an option if you did want to move to a different hosting platform just for this forum. As far as I know, if you use the direct image link to post the picture on here, there's no way to see the rest of your pictures on there. It doesn't look like there's a limit to how many pictures can be uploaded either. The file sizes have to be less than 32MB for the free account, but that seems to be the only restriction.

Thanks for the link to the info scallywag, I've read it & basically what cazypops has said is right. However I need to find out a bit more. If it just means the privacy setting has to be public then that is one thing & is no real difference to posting a flickr link in a thread on here that doesn't require a login. One of the reasons the photography section of the forum was created to give that privacy, although any user signed in can see them. However there other settings in flickr that I'm not clear about in respect of this forth-coming change such as:- - who can download your images
- allow others to share your stuff
- allow your stuff to be added to a gallery
- hide your stuff from public searches
The above settings are separate from the privacy settings for who can see your photos which is the only thing that Flickr specifically is going to limit to 50 private.

This question & answer on the Flickr help forum maybe useful for timescales on this change:- Today l deleted all my rubbish pics ( as in jokes etc ) l also deleted photos from 2015 onwards but 2017 oldest , of other peoples photos l was asked to help post Cause if l have to be public l wont have their permission , members no longer come on here. I still have 280 photos all of Beau and my siggie etc so l have to decide if l want them to become public , or delete 230 photos , unless l can double check if i still have them on my computer anyways. At least we still have time to sort eh , talk about … been there , done that with flipping P.Bucket grrrrr tonib is there a way of emailing them back to ourselves from flickr would you know ? Xx. Also , thanks for your detective work , appreciate it , as do all of us 🥰

I'm lost in all of that someone will have to help me through what seems a bit of a puzzle once again they want to charge you if you want to use the site as a private member , OR you can have only 50 FREE photos. Or change your setting to PUBLIC then anyone can view , download , share YOUR photos I remember sitting on my computer for days transfereing your and mine photos from Photobucket onto here. Well I am not going to do that again , so basically now have to find another site where we can post our photos from for FREE or keep our free uploads to a min of 50 , making lots of removed photos over time here on the forum tonib have I got that right please ? xx

Well l had my email tonight telling me my account was in violation of flickrs free account. Saddened me to have to pick just 50 photos to keep , looks like the forums gonna have an awful lot of messy threads now , my album will no doubt look awful now , awww now the tears are flowing. I just was not prepared to pay or go public with my boy 👎🤧

It's not quite as drastic as you think scallywag . I went through my photos & made most of them public but kept some of the other privacy settings as described in this earlier post:- Thanks for the link to the info scallywag , I've read it & basically what cazypops has said is right. However I need to find out a bit more. If it just means the privacy setting has to be public then that is one thing & is no real difference to posting a flickr link in a thread on here that doesn't require a login. - allow your stuff to be added to a gallery
- hide your stuff from public searches
The above settings are separate from the privacy settings for who can see your photos which is the only thing that Flickr specifically is going to limit to 50 private. I took the decision that only photos which would identify where I live or show other people needed to stay private & that enabled me to gt down to 50 private. You can get your photos from flickr to your computer www.flickrhelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404079675156-Downloading-content-from-FlickrI hope this info isn't too late.
