What has the petrol situation been like where you live? I filled up on Tuesday last week before any of it started. Hubby filled up on Friday after stories started. I spoke to my son on Sunday and he went to 2 local filling stations and they were out of fuel. He managed to get some near where he works yesterday morning and it was limited to £30. On my way home from work I pass the local petrol station yesterday and they had fuel. It was busy but not queueing out in the road so went in and I filled it up, £17.25. I'm glad I did as this morning they were out of fuel. I feel relieved that I can now go to work and back for 2 weeks. If the government hadn't said anything we would have all continued as normal and we probably wouldn't have run out in the petrol stations.

i agree , the human race do NOT do what is advised , when told NOT to fill up , go about your daily routine , well you just know ( and it did happen ) everyone ignored and went to fill up and also fill cans and plastic bottles too.
Tesco here was queueing all the way back down off site onto main road, so I heard. I havent even bothered to try for any, I have 1/2 a tank that will last me a while as I just go for shopping now mum has passed I am in the car less now

Still have about 1/4 of a tank so that will last me until I go shopping on Thursday. Hopefully by then things will have settled down by then.
I believe that all the petrol stations round here are limiting to £30 too.
I blame the media for everyone panic buying, it started with about 2 places down south round London, and they were Esso stations, and had nothing to do with a fuel shortage but a driver shortage.

I actually noticed a problem at my local fuel stations about a week before they announced it on the news - but it was no big deal, everyone was just finding a different place to fill up than usual. Ever since it was on the news the world has gone mad! I filled up last Friday as I genuinely needed to (only about 1/8 tank left) and felt like such an idiot sat in the huge queue with everyone as if I was panic buying lol. Thankfully my van has a big tank and it usually lasts me about a week and a half for work, so fingers crossed the madness has died down a bit before I have to try and get more. My only issue now is getting around town while I'm at work, trying to dodge the crazy queues near fuel stations that are jamming up all the roads for about a mile!

I haven't seen any long queues blocking up roads thank goodness. I know that would be the case by the local Morrisons store as their petrol station and store is built immediately off a roundabout - I should think it was chaos. I definitely avoided that area.

I went shopping yesterday and filled up at the same time. Petrol was fine and no queues, but they didn't have any diesel so OH has had to buy some from work.
Fingers crossed now the army are being brought in the situation will get resolved soon.
