Sunday early afternoon Lexie was sick, brought up all her breakfast in the hall then ran upstairs & was a little sick on the stair. Before I could clear it up I had to stop Roman (always hungry these days) eating the pile in the hall - I must admit that was a quite a surprise & he didn't want to be moved away from it, he was quite vocal & stubborn! I cleared it & found a couple more spots on the landing upstairs. A bit later I saw her bring up some phlegm in the bedroom (of course that has just been redecorated, followed by a new carpet on 7th August, new bed on 9th August & until just over a week ago I'd kept the door shut as I hadn't moved back in from the spare bedroom until then when I'd sorted out the bed linen etc. - it was king instead of the previous super king so need all new bedding!- and all the bedside lamps & main shade as was a completely different colour room) I also found a couple more small sick patches on the landing & also some older sick (possible pawprints) on the bedroom carpet! She well & truly christened it! At least it cleaned up Ok, Think I may have to do the hall, stairs & landing spots again as that carpet is light whilst the bedroom wasn't as bad & is also darkish. She's been fine since.
Osiris has been a bit picky with his food & finally Sunday didn't want any, so was tempting him with anything I could. Chicken - no, Ham - ok but then wouldn't touch, Pastrami - oh that's nice but then wanted no more. A bit of success with Sheba Perfect portion but mainly ate the pate parts & left any lumps but then wouldn't have it again. Pilchards in tomato sauce have been tried - nice but only a little bit before no more! Last night I defrosted some mince in the microwave & that seemed acceptable but then no more. He's been to the vets today (Tuesday) given an anabolic steroid injection (Laurabolin) to help improve his appetite but can take 3-5 days to work In the meantime it is important to get him to eat whatever I can. He's had a lick of pilchards didn't want the mince or cat food. Going to get some cooked fish from the chip shop shortly see if that will help. At the moment he's outside hiding in the shade of the shrubbery.
As to Roman his blood glucose has been up & down but Sunday morning was in the normal range but by mid afternoon it was just below normal & it was the same in the evening so lowered his amount of insulin, but when I injected it somehow his fur was wet after so must have either injected into fur instead of skin or had come out the other side of the tent formed to inject into. As a result I had no idea how much he got & hence couldn't inject again. Expected his BG to be high next time I checked & it was, all through Monday but was back to normal range this morning (Tuesday) when his results were due to be reviewed by the vet (supposed to be by phone call but as Osiris was at the hospital seeing another vets they swopped over & Roman's vet saw Osiris & discussed Roman as well).
Roman's always hungry & has worked out that he can tailgate into Osiris's feeder when Osiris moves away a bit but his tag is still in range of the feeder so Roman's head breaks the beam instead of Osiris's & the feeder can still find Osiris's tag!. Think I'll have to contact the Surefeeder support for advice on how to stop this without putting Osiris off from using the feeder as he's a slow eater & comes up for air a few times so I don't want it to be too quick in shutting the lid! Lexie just slips paw alongside Osiris's head to grab food. The main feeding times they are all separate but as they graze I sometimes have to stand guard whilst Osiris eats!!!
Sunday certainly was a busy day!!
