Elsa started with loose stools last week she normally has James well beloved dry kibble with boiled chicken - I made some elm bark up it seems to be helping - then Riley had the runs a couple of days later so he was just on boiled chicken with elm bark for a couple of days he seems to be ok now.
Elsa’s poo seemed to be back to normal for a couple of days but it’s back to being all slimy again this morning- she is her normal self other than that.
I thought I might just try her on boiled chicken with some elm bark tonight rice doesn’t seem to suit their tummy’s very much so I’v stayed away from the rice.
I will see what she’s like tomorrow and if still the same I will call the vet for advice in the morning.
They both have sensitive tummies anyway but I can normally zap it with the elm bark .
I was thinking it was probably a bug with them both having it - it just seems to be going on a bit for Elsa and her tummy isn’t normally too bad not like Riley’s tummy any way.
It maybe just a coincidence but I started with the runs a week last Wednesday- I was up and down to the toilet every 10 minutes right through the night I spent all Thursday in bed I improved but I started with stomach cramps again yesterday and then with the runs again - I was sent home from work - I’v spoken to gp this morning because I’m struggling to keep water down it comes straight back out - I,v been signed off work until 21st dec they seem to think it’s some kind of gastroenteritis and I’v been told I need to rest and try and drink plenty of fluids.
The question is that the only thing I have had different to hubby is water I filter our water for me and all 3 furbabies I drink a lot of water but hubby only drinks fizzy pop and boils water for tea and coffee.
It’s strange that me and the dogs all started around the same time and it’s only me and the dogs that’s had the water - it was just a thought maybe it’s just a coincidence .
