Well, I haven't set eyes on Tay the stray for 10 days. I'm still putting a pouch of food out in Toffee's veranda in case Tay pops in and it goes every night. I don't know if Tay is having it or some other cat or creature! Last week I put 2 dishes out, 1 with beef cat food which I know he doesn't like and only a bit of that one was eaten. Perhaps tonight I will only put out a dish of the beef cat food to see if it goes. The last few times that Tay has honoured me with his presence, I have noticed that he's now clean and no longer smells. I have come to the conclusion that he has now been neutered. Perhaps he wandered off and got lost at the start of the pandemic, and that is how I came to feed him twice a day all through April and most of May. His owners may have been self-isolating and couldn't find him. I assume he found his way back home and this is how he came to be neutered. He hasn't been picked up by the Cats Protection League as they snip one of the cat's ears when they neuter and return. Strange that Tay is still very timid. I think he's the cat number 8 I nearly had.

Glad to see he's now hopefully back with his owners and is being taken care off again. But sorry he didn't become cat number 8.

Pity you can't set up a security camera on the food bowl to see who comes wot eat it lotsofcats. Hope his family appreciate the care you took of him, even though they may not know who that person was.

I didn't think of that tonib, we've got CCTV on the front of the house from when we had a lot of trouble with someone vandalising our cars. There is a camera on the back of the house, I'll get hubby to check it's working and see if it gets Toffee's veranda in its view.

Hubby is going to get the camera connected to show pictures on the television in the dining room. He's not well at the moment so will do it in the next few days. He's got to change something because he had a new television. I will probably have to leave the kitchen light on so that we will be able to identify who's having the cat food. I can't wait.

Last night the dog woke me up and when I looked out of the kitchen window a hedgehog was drinking water from the dog's outside water bowl which is by the steps of Toffee's house. I don't think a hedgehog could climb up the open wooden steps to the veranda for the food I leave out. This morning the food was still there - that's the first time it hasn't been eaten.

It's Tay the stray! Hubby hasn't sorted out the camera out the back yet so I thought I'd watch the recording from the front garden. He came over the wall and up the garden path about 2am. Last night I put out food that I know he doesn't like and only half of it had gone. I don't know why he doesn't come earlier like he used to. I'm just happy he's okay and I'm not feeding rats.

I noticed that the camera doesn't actually see anything of the house opposite except the very top of their conservatory above the hedge. It covers our front gate and path up to the house, a bit of next door's wall and gate, the road that can be seen through the gate, the tops of any cars parked on the road outside and the cottage that is next down from the house opposite and is set down in off the road. They only have one downstairs window and a door on the front and this is facing their car on their driveway. Not much visible there.

He didn't come for any food last night - possibly because it was raining. I'm going to check the CCTV again on Saturday.

I had all back tonight how about was he back yet Glad that all of your gang were back for their food spider. The food had gone from last night, the dish was licked clean, so I expect it was just the rain that put him off on Wednesday night.
