When I got home from work yesterday Kiba-Khan had done a big lump next to the litter tray in the pen - the difference in him!, he was so much happier and wolfed his food down when I got him in. I walked him around the garden in his walking jacket and later he sat on my lap for ages.

You are so right. He was on and off the litter tray in the house Monday evening and then he'd walk off and looked as if he was still straining to go and I was thinking, just please go, I don't care if it's on the carpet! I bought some Novecol granules which have the ingredient in them that was in the Peridale that is no longer manufactured, but Kiba-Khan's not amused with them on his food. I'm trying to sneak it in and also giving him lactulose in most meals. I have thrown out so much cat food from meals he won't eat. I'm giving him Applaws chicken and pumpkin and I've offered him mackerel in oil - he only ate a bit of it but the rest was gobbled up by Bramble and Kobi (he loves fish).

I got home from work yesterday and there was another Kiba-Khan lump in the cat pen by the side of a litter tray so I was really pleased. He ate well when I got him in from the pen and in the night he did a large poo in the litter tray. Previous ones had been hard as iron but this one was more normal so something is working at last. I really thought I was going to have to have him put to sleep today if he hadn't done anything in the litter tray by Wednesday. I am so relieved. On the other hand I now have a problem with Kai Ruki and have an appointment for him at 12.30. For the past week he has been vomiting little blobs of watery mucus all over the place and today he made a funny cough that sounded like the ones that Kiba-Khan makes. He's eating okay but seems to have lost his miaow and just a little croak comes out. I'm annoyed with my vets as the only really good vet there that I liked retired on Friday. Today they have a locum covering and it's Elliot who is really good (he used to work there before).

Good news lotsofcats and bad news lets hope Kai Ruki isnt serious. keep us posted Good luck spider on your visit too Brilliant news - when I got home to collect Kai Ruki to go the vet, Kiba-Khan had done a big pile of poo in the litter tray! I think that's him cleared out now so hopefully I can keep giving him various items to keep him regular and fingers crossed, he will be okay for a while. The vet said Kai Ruki is okay, no chest or heart problems, nothing stuck in his throat. He thinks he's got a bit carried away with his overgrooming and he's swallowing too much fur! Hmmm, that doesn't really explain the sicky bits or the loss of voice.

Good luck with your vet visit spider - like you said, better to check now and find anything sooner rather than later.
