Glad to hear the meds are working for Beau. meandmine, our vet says the same as yours although interestingly I get a written prescription for 6 months (the max. period they are allowed to do before the pet is reviewed). The prescription costs £17 but the medication is only £8.90 compared to around £15+ (such a long time since I bought it from the vet I can't say for sure) so for 6 bottles is a saving & we have 2 cats having this so it all adds up & we can avoid delivery charges (the company I use sets their free delivery at £29) as well by ordering from both prescriptions (which are also reviewed at different times) as well as a non prescription item. It's worth checking the prices online scallywag if Beau's going to be on it for at least 6 months along with the vet's charge for a written repeat prescription. However I think you would need a prescription for each item. But still worth checking even if only for the most expensive.

Mine gives me prescription for 3 months at a time at about £11 and I buy meds online for about £38. It is definitively cheaper for me to do that way even if its a bit of a faff! They only do every 3 months as she has to have health check at that time period to as such have go ahead for another 3 months.
Mums first dog was on heart medication for years, it can do wonders!

Just back from vets ( had his checkup) meds are doing their job , got to stop him from jumping up onto the couch thou , easily said than done where My O.H is concerned. I put a cushion in the way and HE removes it I was only charged for the meds, the consult was N/C can't say that for my old vets I used to go to, it £25 as soon as you walked thru the front door

Oh no poor Beau, and poor you scallywag. I hope it's nothing too serious. Have you rang the vets to let them know what happened? Just when you've got back from there too. {{HUGS}}

Poor Beau Hope he's okay now scallywag. As for no jumping on the sofa, could you get him some steps or will they be too much for him too?

Just read this - how awful for you both. I hope that Beau is okay now. I hope it's just a one-off and he will be fine.
