Poor Moonbeam a stomach upset from chicken and after a reaction to olbas oil!!! They do know how to worry us don't they. I must admit the olbas oil incident made me look at essential oils & found that although the lavender plant may give them a slight upset tum from eating a large amount but the lavender essential oil is definitely toxic to cats along with some others. A friend of mine has a problem with house/carpet moths & like me (in the past) has got a product to control them, its based on lavender. I forwarded him a link to the Pdsa info on this so thought I'd share it here www.pdsa.org.uk/taking-care-of-your-pet/looking-after-your-pet/kittens-cats/cats-and-essential-oils

As to talking to pets, of course I talk to the cats & they answer me back, in fact Roman will often start a conversation with a definitive I'm hungry & its food time comment and will continue the conversation until his food is put down. Unfortunately he also adds physical comments in this as he attempts to stick his head in any cat food I'm dishing out regardless of whether its his!
Yesterday I was trying to share a 156g of Applaws chicken & pumpkin between his & Orisis's bowl. I certainly had a mess to clear up as he was on the worktop trying to get in the act with his head shoving my arm (the one with the hand holding the spoon!) out the way to get at it. It's not something he normally gets as Osiris normally has the 70g tin to himself but zooplus were out of those when I ordered & so I ordered the 156g instead & this was the 1st one, so I though I'd share it between them. Normally Roman gets his served before Osiris , a case of medicines in the food determine the order. Lexie doesn't get any, Osiris & Roman share a capsule of Nutraquin+ & Osiris gets Ipakatine as well.
Roman is getting very food orientated at the moment & he put on a little weight over the winter & I'm trying to get his weight down, the very warm weather isn't helping as he's not being particularly energetic during the day. But he's only losing 2g of kibble in each of his 2 servings but he was still less inclined to wait for food even before I reduced it. He's estimated to be 16 this year (not sure when as the rescue didn't have his actual age details.

I had to laugh as I imagined you trying to dish out the food and Roman wanting his immediately tonib. I've had the same problem and it's usually with Blackberry and Willow - they are so impatient and aggressive trying to get at any food. Whenever I'm brave enough to give any meat by hand to either of them it's like feeding Jaws the shark!, they nearly have my fingers off. I don't know why they are like it.
