She’s doing pretty good She does still occasionally lose her balance and fall over.

She’s doing amazing! She’s healing really nicely and is going to get her stitches out in about a week. She’s basically mastered walking (except for when she stretches, but she catches herself most of the time now) There was a mouse the other day that we found hiding behind furniture. She was trying to help Mikila and me catch it lol, it was adorable

That's great progress not just the healing & balance but also Mikila accepting the change of smell & appearance. Was the mouse caught? It must be interesting to watch Avi try with a cone on

Mikila had caught it by the leg, but she put it down and it got away before she could catch it again.
It was amusing to watch Avi try. She’d bump her cone into things and she mostly got in the way, but she was doing her best!

She must be feeling well if she's trying her best to catch a creature.

I woke up this morning when she came into my room to lay down with me which is fine, but when she tried to get back up she started growling like it was hurting again and falling over. Her other leg seems to be fine and she’s up again. I think she might have been experiencing phantom pains

How is Avi now mistyanna? Could she be overdoing it? Although the external stitches are holding I assume there must be some internal ones as well or she could still need to develop the muscles in her other legs to compensate & they are feeling the strain as its only 9 days since the op? Is she still on pain meds? I note she was due back to the vets in about 10 days after her op. for her stitches to be taken out which is very soon so I'd tell the vet about that incident when you go & in the meantime keep an eye on her for any other signs of pain or difficulty. Sorry for all the questions & I'm sure you were going to do all that anyway but having had experience of leg injuries in cats admittedly not amputation I thought I'd mention it just in case.

I don’t think she’s overdoing it. It’s possible, but she hasn’t really been up too much. She’s going in tomorrow to get her stitches out and I’ll mention it then. She’s also taken the last of the painkillers since they only gave her a prescription for a week. She’s had a couple little episodes since then but none of them have been as bad.

Did she get her stitches out yesterday ? Hope she was healed inside, they say you heal from the inside out, x
