Yesterday I went to the Asian Group Cat Society show with Ajax & her 2 cats. It was a lovely sunny day & the venue was definitely different. It was a church which has been turned into a community centre, whilst the nearby church hall is now the church! The church still has all its pillars, vaulted ceiling & stained glass windows so a marvellous setting.
Ajax's 2 cats were both entered in the Household Pet Olypmian class (1 in the male & 1 in the female) as well as their appropriate Best in Colour. Her female, Little Oleg (show name Liza Mewlittle) came 4th & her male, Godfrey (show name Mognum Opuss) came 5th in their Olympian classes. Also Godfrey won his Best in Colour & hence automatically considered for Best in Show Pedigree Pet.

The Pens for the winners of the various sections were situated where the altar would have been with the judging area for Best in Show in front of that. All the cats eligible for the Best in Show of their category were brought to this area & were judged by 3 judges seated at a table in front of the audience. Godfrey was judged last of the 9 cats for BIS & to the shock of Ajax he won!

Once they had judged the BIS non-Pedigree pet the winner was judged along with Godfrey for overall BIS Household Pet & that award went to the non-Pedigree. That didn't make any difference to Ajax's elation
Earlier, whilst they were doing the main judging the various classes, we'd found a nice cafe to get some brunch & then walked down to Crosby beach & walked fully around the Marine Lake & were able to see Antony Gormley's Another Place sculptures, although as this was an unexpected walk, I wasn't wearing the right shoes for walking on the sands. It was a glorious day to walk here & we're definitely going back suitably dressed. Ajax's comment was she felt like she was on holiday.

can't really see in the photo but that figure is one of Gormley's statues. At least you can see what a lovely day it was
A lot of people were walking dogs both in the coastal park & on the sands. We saw a group of springers, mum & dad & (I think) 3 of their youngsters. The boating lake hosted swans, moorhens, various varieties of gulls & ducks! There was a pipeline (or at least that what it looked like) across the lake & the gulls were standing on it & then popping into the water - it looked like the gulls diving board!!!
