I've been told there are very few place. I was told the place e we're going is the best. If he can have the op I've asked my vet to do it as she has got every bit of cancer from him plus alfie trusts her and the staff. I only want the best for him plus we wont have travel once he's had it done I quite agree scruffsmaz, as part of Liverpool Uni Vet School it has got an amazing rep., & your vet sounds brilliant. Hope all goes well.

Update....
Alfie had his scan today no sign of anymore tumours apart from the one I've told u all about.
Biopsy taken and other tests and now need to wait for results for next week
Next step will be meds and maybe more tests, decision on surgery in 1 to 3 months depending on response to meds.

Had a phone call that his tumour has doubled in the last 18 months but it's not cancer ( thank god) he's back into my vets in Wednesday for more blood test. (I'm surprised hes got any blood left after how much has be taken over the last couple of months).
He will have 3 tests over 8 hours. The professor from lea hurst wants him on the meds by the end of next week. I just hope he will respond to them ok so he can start to have a "normal" life again and not being used as a pin cushion and being shaved and pulled around.
He will have to have regular blood tests to make sure no more harm is happening to him.
I dont really want him to have the surgery as we was told yesterday it is a very risky operation but if he has to I don't really get a choice.

That's really good news that Alfie's tumour isn't cancer scruffsmaz. We'll all be having fingers/paws crossed for the meds working.

Thank u everyone I will keep u all updated on how he's doing.
I know he will have to go back to lea Hurst again at some point.i dont think I will be able to settle till things calm down with alf. It's been really stressful for us and alf.i will only do what is best for him and not me, my boy will always comes first no matter what.
I just want to enjoy being with him because the last 4 ½ years has been cancer and operations and after care and I also think he's had enough of it all.

Like you say you can only do what’s best for Alfie but hopefully he will get treatment which will enable him to have a good life with you x

Alfie has started his meds last night he will have to have blood tests on the 12th to see if they are working. Its been so stressful making the right decisions for him. I dont really want to go down the line of surgery again for him as he's been through so much but it depends if the meds are working or not. I love him too much, his hips are also in a bad way.
Like I said it all depends on the meds now.

So far so good. Alf started his meds on Friday night and have seen changes already, we was told it would take up to 10 days but we've noticed it after 1 day. There is still a long road to go with him but at the minute things are looking good
