I hope this means the vet is getting poor Alfie's meds all sorted so that he can have a quiet life, bless him. You must spend your life worrying so much about him, you need some positive news. We're hoping he can Start his new meds next week, when I had the results last week from his ultra sound I was over the moon as if was cancer I wouldn't be able to help him anymore but seems it's his cushions I still can. Every time my poor boy has to stay in at the vets I'm stressed and not able to settle till he's home and then he won't let me out of his sight because then he's stressed, its a never ending circle. These new tablets are a trial because if these don't work there will be another tablet for him to try, it all depends on alfs problem. It would be so nice if alf could have a quiet life for his sake, but for the last 6 years it's been like this with 1 problem after another.

Update...
I've had to rush Alfie back to the vets on Friday, he's stopped eating and drinking very little, the vets has took him off the new antibiotics and had to go back on the old ones but I don't know how long for till I speak to the vet on Monday. He's also very weak at the minute and I'm really worried about him, he won't even eat his favourite treats or anything else which is very unlike him

Sorry to hear your worrying update scruffsmaz I hope that the change back to the old antibiotics resolve the problem. I'm a member of a feline kidney disease forum (not that I'm suggesting this is Alfie's issue in any way just that not eating is something that they see for all sorts of reasons & look for solutions for ) Is Alfie wanting to eat but turning his nose up when he goes to food? If so this can be caused by nausea & they recommend giving anti-nausea meds (from the vet) We'll all be thinking of you & Alfie, it must be very stressful for you both.

With his breakfast there is no interest at all but with his treats he takes them off me but won't eat them, the next option we have could be his trilostane as he could be going into another crisis like he did about 18 months ago, I phoned the vets on Saturday but they didn't get back to me so I'll be on the phone first thing in the morning and making sure they see him as he can't keep on being like this. I do know his liver has dropped due to the cushions

Update...
Alfie was slowly going into another addisonian crisis.
We've got to take Alfie off the trilostane till he starts eating again again which can take 2 to 5 days, once he starts eating he's got to go on a much lower dose of trilostane and have a blood test after 10 days of eating.
It's been hard work fighting to get this far, we had a good idea what was going on with him but we needed the bloods to tell us.

Is having a feeding tube inserted an option ? When my past boy was gravely ill and spent weeks in the vetinary hospital , we were advised it was best to let him go , and was left to give it some thought over the weekend , he was only 8 years old. That weekend a different vet was doing the weekend cover , we got a call asking for permission to insert a feeding tube which obviously we did. Not sure how long he was still in the hospital 1 or 2 weeks , but they agreed to show us how to feed Tobi by this tube , and take him home. He had to be fed every 2 hours with this special food, all mushed up into liquid, that was his turning point , we had him for another 2 years, It was his pancreas and platelets not clotting that took him from us in the end.
Sorry gone off tooic but was just a thought. You certainly are going thru the wringer and back , the love you have for Alf is shining thru so bright , I just wish he and you were both given a break , and get life back on track for you both. Not sure if ive made any sense there. BIG HUGS XX

Glad you've got Alfie's results scruffsmaz & have a way forward. Fingers crossed, with stopping the trilostane, he starts eating soon both for his nutrition & health & also so you can get him back on the amended dose of trilostane for his Cushings.

Its been a nightmare he won't even eat a treat at the minute and a friend of mine told me to let him go, what she don't realise I'll never give up on alf till he tells me he's ready, there's been alot of tears over time due to his health. He is worth fighting for, even my vet has said that she knows I won't give up on him, I'm hoping in a few days he'll be eating again
