I start another 5 days of antibiotics tomorrow as I decided to see the doctor & she had a good look & decided to see if the lump that has formed under the deeper hole could be drained -only blood came out. My knee is now an even better understudy for Joseph's Multicoloured Dreamcoat as she drew a blue ring round the strong red coloured area & said if the red goes past the line or the lump gets bigger to go back! Spoke to the hospital. Apparently the consultant won't be back until 11th March which will mean another pre-op assessment, that's been booked for 1st March & as I was planning to do some driving on 23rd March I've asked for the op to be scheduled for after that. only 2 weeks after the surgeon is back so not any real delay. They can only book 5 weeks ahead so when I get the date I'll re-book the cattery, I hope everything works out this time. The cats are fine, although Osiris is still shedding fur. No sign of that cat again but Roman does seem to be sniffing around the garden (front & back), that could of course be due to any of the local cats including Osiris or not even cat related!

That's a long delay. Your leg will be fine by then, I think you are going to have a scar. You won't ever forget that cat. I hope this second course of antibiotics works better.

To be honest lotsofcats it really has looked as though its improving faster since I went to the doctor, still quite red but the lump is definitely smaller so I think the 2nd course is just a little boost to make sure.

Hope this second course of antibiotics works for you tonib. I bet you never want to run into that cat again.

Finally finished the antibiotics & you're right, cazypops, I don't want to see that cat again & luckily I haven't although if it is a stray I hope it had shelter with the snow & ice we had. Its healing very nicely thank you lotsofcats, still got a small lump the area is tending to peel so its getting some moisturising. Still a bit colourful around although the doctors blue line around it has just about gone. I nearly added to that leg's problems. I cleared our drive & most of the close's turning circle (at the end of our drive) coming from the pile of snow I cleared from the drive & the road as I decided to check if the shiny bit coming from the pile of snow was water or ice. I knew the answer when I picked myself up from the ground!! A bit of a bruised foot, but my pride was definitely more bruised! The rest of my body which hit the road was much more padded despite having further to go than my foot!!! No comments please about the stupidity of treading on ice to see if it was ice or water!!

That's the sort of thing I would do tonib. In the snow I wear those grips for the bottom of my boots that have metal studs on and they are brilliant for the slippery bits. I had them on my boots on Saturday when we took Kobi out and called into the petrol station to get my monthly Asda £5 voucher for my phone bundle. I had to take them off to go in the petrol station. I put them back on and we then made our way to the chip shop. I looked down and I was minus one of my grips. I had to walk back to where I had put them back on and there it was, sat in the snow! Hubby said it couldn't have been very slippery if I hadn't noticed I was walking on the snow and ice without one!
