Our April Fool Osiris celebrated his 12th birthday this Easter Sunday. He had some of the Carnilove moist food a treat - he really likes it Also a new Yeowww catnip toy. Can't believe he's grown from a curious teenager into a Senior cat in the 10 years we've had him. He suits his birth day - a right mix of loving cat & a real grump puss. He knows what he likes & what he doesn't (Lexie & renal food in particular)

A belated 12th birthday to the lovely Osiris. Shame he doesn't like his renal food, there's not a lot of choice around in the special dietary foods.

lotsofcats He'll eat under protest the RC renal Chicken & Tuna but the beef is not a popular flavour. At the moment we're mixing a pouch of renal with either one of the chicken or fish (depending on the renal flavour) Applaws 70g tins along with his Ipakatine powder. Not ideal but he won't eat it on its own & he's very picky over his normal food. every so often we sneak in a ordinary cat food pouch (senior if possible) but its rarely eaten & hence the renal food isn't. He's coming up to his 6 month renal check-up. I'm debating whether to get him to the vets before their cattery visit at the end of the month or after. If before at least I can ask them to clip his claws before the cattery!

You certainly have to be crafty to get Osiris to eat his renal food. A good idea I think, to get him to the vets before the cattery visit and they can clip his claws.

Osiris, 12 years a fool? Have you considered a therapist? Personally I think you are good as you are, if only you will be nice to your sister. Definitely first to the vet. Hills has the food with chicken flavour. Most of the cats I know prefer Hills to RC (including mine).

Sadly Osiris wouldn't eat the Hills dutchkitties. We tried all sorts of brands (Zooplus has much more avvailable than a lot of UK companies) but nothing was suitable for him. We wouldn't have our April Fool any other way
